Hi! I have a 3-5 year ragdoll cat and i was wondering what is the common wieght for a cat of his age. My dad keeps calling him fat!!!!, but he is obviously joking. Please help!

While ragdolls are larger cats, (12-14lbs) if you feed a dry diet, it is more than likely he is at least a little bit overweight. If you are concerned, take him to your vet and he can tell you for sure. :-)

The weight is not really the best indicator. A cat could be ideal weight at 14 pounds, or at seven.

Best way to check is to just give him a good snuggle. You should be able to feel his ribs, just barely, but not be able to see them. If he's really fluffy (I'm assuming he is because, hey, Ragdoll), run your fingers through his fur so you can feel what's under it. :) He also shouldn't have too much of a belly, though loose skin in the abdomen is quite normal and not associated with overweight.
