My cat Sophie a Korat who is about 6+ years old has had hair loss problems maybe 1-2years after we found her hanging around in our yard. The hair loss is just on her back end(not tail or legs). It doesn't seem to bother her(not itchy and she doesn't excessively lick).

I agree with catspaw did you take her in the vet? also it could be food allergy or other allergy sensitivity to food or something else or a health problem or maybe just plan fleas or mites etc

Are we talking on her back, just in front of her tail?  That is a frequent area that flea allergies show up, for one thing.

It's just a small area behind her tail. The hair pretty much grows back during the warmer months than during the winter she'll barley have any hair there. No, she has not been taken to the vet because my mom does not have the money to spend. Now if it was something that was causing her discomfort yes she would be taken to the vet, but it doesn't bother her at all in any way.

My cat  has had two periods of "feline psychogenic alopecia"--once when my mom died and once when we got a new dog.  He licked himself bald.  It gradually came back and he's good now.

There are many sebaceous glands located in that area and is a common place for oil build up causing clogged pores and hair loss if they are licking the area often. Is she spayed? because the problem can become more so if a cat is unaltered. Does she goes outdoors? Because it could also be a flea issue. :vibes::vibes:

Yes, she is spayed and yes she is and indoor/outdoor cat. I've never seen fleas on her, but I'll get a flea collar and give her a bath and see if that works.

Please, don't use a flea collar.  Buy some Frontline or Advantage.  A lot of us have had cats get very ill from flea collars and cheap topical flea drops.

I've used flea collars before on my previous cat and he never had a problem with it and my Nana uses flea collars on her cats and they are fine. I don't use Frontline or Advantage because they don't work in my area, but I buy another brand I can't think of for my dogs.
