My furry critter, Orion, is roughly about 2 years old now.  He's been skinny since he came to me, nothing wrong with him health wise, he's active and bouncy, and eats plenty, throughout the day.  He used to be on a feeding schedule, until I noticed him becoming skinny, and since then, have been free-feeding him.

And he's extremely picky about food, and only eats dry cat food.  He's eaten canned food before, but for the life of me, I cannot remember the brand and that was the only kind he would eat.  We also just moved to a whole new state entirely, and haven't yet found a Vet in the area that we like and trust, and my new work schedule interferes with calling our old vet.

Is there anything at all I can do to fatten him up?  I'm gonna keep trying canned food until we can find the one he likes.

Welcome to TCS. You could try EVO canned food, Wellness or Blue Buffalo Wilderness. They have decent ingredients and are higher in calories than some of the others. Lamb cat food is usually higher in calories than other meat. Does he like freeze dried meat treats? That could be a healthy way to get some extra calories in him. Maybe a little scrambled eggs? Mine love them. Try sprinkling the food you want him to eat with a little parmesean cheese. Most cats love it.

If you are having troyble getting him to eat canned food, try Fancy Feast. Most cats can't resist. The classic varieties are the highest protein/lowest carb.

I'll try those, thanks!  He's super iffy about eating anything that isn't his dry food, other than one or two kinds of cat food (but we actually have breakfast cooking right now, so I'm gonna try the scrambled eggs first, haha).
