Hi there, we're very happy to be here. We are Kim (me!), Olympia and Molly; as well as some older ladies staying with us: Pearl and her supposed daughter, Chloe. All of my girls are recycled and very differently tempered; but it's worked out well!
Meet Pearl, above left (~14 y.o.) and Chloe, above right (~11 y.o.). They came as a pair from the RSPCA in 2005. Apparently Chloe is Pearl's daughter, so the shelter was selling them as a pair. They are actually 'owned' by my mother and younger sister (yep my mum has Pearl, little sister has Chloe), but have been living with me 'temporarily' for years.
Meet Olympia:- before and after. A year ago she came to stay with me after I found out about her house from a friend of a friend. Her name was originally Olympus, but when the former-guardians explained what they named her after (and it was not a very feminine name) we altered it to Olympia. She was so tiny for her age due to competing for scarce cheap food against many unspeyed cats and their offspring in a drughouse. She's since at least doubled in size and strength. Unfortunately (and apparently uncommon for her age?) she recently suffered acute bouts of cholangitis and pancreatitis and ongoing IBD; yep, triaditis. Touch wood it's under control now. She's one tough little baby!
And then there's Molly- my Golden RetrieverXBorder Collie. Olympia loves having Molly around- yes it's the little cat that chases the ball, chases the other cats and plays fetch! As for Molly... she lived in a concrete courtyard for her first three years and didn't even know what to do with a ball until she moved in with us; Olympia taught her!
