Good morning!

Today's question is for the wine drinkers: What is your favorite wine? Do you like to try new wines?

My sister and I are both white wine drinkers. We'll drink red, but we prefer a dry red. I like blush wines, too. We love to try new wines and will experiment with the wines at our local wineries. One of our wineries has a wonderful Mint Iced Tea wine that is delicious in the summer; they also have our favorite sparkling wine, Three Witches. Right now, we're on a pineapple kick and will have a pineapple wine with our Easter ham, along with whatever bottles my brother and SIL bring. But we're always open to trying something new. My MIL enjoys a good fruity wine; her favorite is usually elderberry, but my SIL brought us a blueberry wine for dinner one night and she loved that.

Rick was at a winery in Oregon yesterday. He said he wanted to send back a couple of bottles for me, but they're not allowed to ship to PA.....we still have the antiquated State Store system here.

We don't really know that much about wine, but we enjoy trying them.

I don't even have to wake up to answer this question. :lol3: I could answer in my sleep. :lol3:

Love wine. :heart2: I've been drinking more wine than cocktails lately, but I have been trying to lose weight,so have been cutting back on alcohol.

Red wine in cold weather, white wine in warm weather for me.

For reds I like Malbec, Carmenere, carbernet, merlot, Shiraz, etc.

For whites I prefer Chardonnay, and sometimes Sauvignon blanc, but if its really hot, Pinot Grigio or Gewurztraminer.

I don't drink now I'm afraid, although I do succumb to a glass of good champagne on special occaisions and get a bit silly

I did used to enjoy a good red on a cold night.

Don't mind wine but it is a little overwhelming to me of what is decent.  My brother gives us a bottle here and there but besides that I stick with beer mainly.

I no longer drink alcohol but used to enjoy a wide variety of different wines. My favorite several years ago was a full bodied red from the state of Oregon.

My brother is a bit of a oenophile (as much as he can be on a low budget, LOL). So I've tried a few. . .and decided that I don't really like wine :lol3:. I can stand a very sweet and fruity wine, but it's still not my favorite thing, so why waste the calories? I've never developed a taste for alcohol in general, and with alcoholism running rampant in the family, that's probably a good thing.

I don't drink much but when I do I only like white. Sauvignon Blanc. I like a cheap one called Barefoot. They won awards but it's very inexpensive.

Voga makes a delicious sparkling white wine. I like to sit outside when the weather is nice and sip it with a good book.

Easy.  Weiderker  Altus Spumante sparkling wine.  Hard to find though. I always try to buy Arkansas wines.  I live in a dry county, so the nearest place to buy any alcohol is 50 miles away.

I like white wine but I prefer to drink fruit wines. My favourite is Wild Vines blackberry merlot.
I haven't had it in a while and have been wanting a glass.

I am totally a wine drinker......rarely drink any kind of liquor other than an occasional margarita.  I like kind of dry, but fruity wines.....but nothing sweet.  My usual is chardonnay.....have a glass daily when I get home. Like lots of different ones, but not the really oaky varieties.   I lived in California for several years, so learned a lot about wine.....I know the good stuff, but can't afford it very often.  Besides chardonnnay, I like some pinot grigios, sauvignon blanc....pretty much anything if it isn't too sweet.  Don't drink red often, but do like it.....usually pinot, shiraz, merlot, some cabs.  Always open to trying something new  if it isn't pink or sweet.

I am not a drinker. of alcohol. Someone gave me a couple bottles, merlot and shiraz. I have tried a few recipes with them. When I tasted it, I knew I couldn't drink it. I don't like the dry, bitter taste. A friend has a lot of grapevines. He made some homemade wine this year and gave me some to try. It was in a Trop50 juice bottle. My husband poured himself a juice glass full, thinking he was getting cranberry juice with his breadkfast. Boy, did he get a surprise. He poured it back in the bottle and didn't tell me about it for several days. It is a sweet, red wine. Most of it is still in the bottle. Really, I prefer a good glass of iced tea.

Several months ago, I bought a bottle of  Lunes  Moscato and Strawberries.  It tastes like fresh strawberries, sweet but a little tart.

I'm not sure.  I just looked at the bottles and I've removed the labels; so I don't even know who made it!  I had posted this picture on Facebook a while back and two friends commented that they'd picked them up and they were in different states at the time.  One hadn't tried it yet but the other friend said it was good wine!

Love wine and it seems that the older we (Larry and I) get the more we enjoy that glass of red. Larry loves Merlot and Cabs. I prefer Pinot Noir. No particular brand :lol3: Chandon makes a nice smooth Pinot. I also like Layer Cake and Jacob's Creek. I also love Rieslings on most anyday. I do have that sweet tooth, you know. :D ;)

I'm so curious as to which winery that Rick visited. I work in the Dundee/Newberg area which is the original wine area in OR. But there are plenty of other wineries around the Willamette Valley. We are pretty much surrounded by small wineries in our little rural area, in fact just noticed that a new vineyard is being planted on a hill near us.
