Good afternoon everyone

After spending a lot of time planning for my holiday....

how long do you spend to find things to do when you are going on holiday? Or do you wait until you are there and look into a visitor center

If there is something I REALLY want to do that requires buying tickets, I plan that a head of time. Other than that, we just see what interests us and go from there. One of the most enjoyable things we have done is a ghost tour of Williamsburg VA on our honeymoon. It was a spur of the moment thing, we just saw a flier of it at a restaurant and made it in just under the wire. We didn't see any ghosts
but it was cool to hear the legends. To me, a vacation is about turning off the alarm clock, not sticking to a schedule and just relaxing.

My mom, on the other had, had everything planned to the minute. I swear, I was more worn out from family vacations than I was after 9 months of school!

I don't do any pre-planning at all; our vacations are not very structured - we always make hotel reservations but that's about it. My husband takes charge whenever we travel. He's been all over the world and knows his way around airports, subways, and where are the good restaurants in cities. He also seems has a idea of events we could go to, so we talk about that. When I have to travel by myself for business I really appreciate how nice it is to have someone else be the guide!

Gosh - a holiday.... what is that? :lol3: It has been sooooooo long since we have had a "true" vacation. Mostly when we go somewhere it is to visit a family member. I am not much of a traveler these days because of Wilbur, my dog. He is quite old with health issues and can't leave him. BUT someday I would love to go to Norway and Sweden with my hubby. We would plan out that whole trip day by day before we left. I look forward to that someday! :cross:

I always do research before we go somewhere. I don't make a set schedule of what we are going to d what day, unless there is something we really want to see and they are only open certain days, but I make a list of possibilities.
