Hello!  I am soooooo hoping you can help me.  you gave great advice on the last thread I read.

I moved here w 3 cats and no have 11!  people keep moving and leaving their cats behind.  I have rescued them all in in way or another they are not related and different ages (well 2 of them are related on is a bro and sis and 1 is an uncle and a nephew.

My neighbor children just brought 2 BABIES (eyes r open but htey should still be nursing.  I tried baby formula.  I then remembered my neighbors cat had babies and she gave the kittens away 2 weeks ago (too early! :(  and the mom still has milk in her but her nipples are HARD.  I had my kids go get her cat (the mom)  and she is laying with the babies.  and letting them try to nurse (I KNOW she misses her babies and she is just a baby herself)  she is being very comforting for them but am I making a mistake by having them try to nurse?  Is this a good idea?  Do u have any suggestions?

Please help,

Laura B.

good the mom accepted them. If she has milk and they get enough, the only way to know for sure is by weighting them every day, at the same time. Easiest on a kitchen scale measuring in grammes.

Otherwise, you must handrear them yes.  But having this moms help makes it a LOT easier.   :)

You got one link. Another place is the article is here on our own site, Third is www.kitten-rescue.com.  One tip.  If you can get hold of goat milk, it is OK for them. Otherwise, use some of the kmr you can buy in pet shops or vet.

About you having 11 rescuees. VERRY  generous and good of you.  But try to work up some adoption

network...

Good luck!
