Hello

Is it okay for cats to eat some human food, example my cats given the chance will eat my curry. Veg like peas, carrots, flavoured crisps and chips & fries.

These are some of the things I have known my cat to eat. Is it safe in very small amounts?

Well, none of these things are good for a cat, so I would try to prevent my cats from eating them as much as possible. In VERY small doses, it probably won't hurt them other than giving them an upset stomach from the spices. I would make sure to avoid anything toxic to cats like onions, garlic, avocados, raisins, etc.

I don't let my cats eat the curry lol, but they do try and get their noises into my plate every time I have a curry.

What about the other things?

Meat is good. And eggs. I do let my cats have a bite of bread or chips occasionally, but not too often.

Cats have no dietary need for peas, carrots or potatoes, but I have heard of cats liking peas before. I think in very limited amounts, those are ok. I would be concerned about anything flavored, especially the crisps. Just review the ingredients and make sure that there's no onion or garlic powder used. I doubt there would be enough to poison a cat, but it's better to be safe on known toxic ingredients.

LOL mine does that too. I was picking them out until I realized she wouldn't eat them on purpose.

Spice would eat the peas, and I think Silly would eat them too.  My RB kitty, Psy
, loved vegetables.  Brussels sprouts were her favorite. Green beans, lima beans, corn, lettuce, tomatoes, any of them she would gobble.  I had to make sure she couldn't get at my plate or everything would have been gone.

I have one that would live on peas if I would let him.  He loves them so much he has (multiple times) dipped his paw into near boiling water to get them, sigh.  (Lest anyone think I am horribly neglectful, sometimes it is simply not possible to keep an eye on 4 cats and a toddler while dashing back and forth from the kitchen to the backyard grill.)  He adores when we have peas for dinner, because it is inevitable that the toddler will drop several on the floor during dinner, and Orion is more than happy to play vacuum cleaner when he does!  I guess now that I'm learning they aren't necessarily good for him, I'll try to put a stop to that, and I'll definitely stop giving him a small bowl of them after dinner!  Darn these pet food companies who put veggies in their foods and make us think it's perfectly fine, sigh.

Well, if Orion isn't reacting negatively to them, giving him a little treat of peas once in a while probably won't hurt him. We all eat stuff that's not good for us once in a while! My FIL will pig out on ice cream sometimes despite being severely lactose intolerant!
