Almost slipped my mind this week! It's been crazy busy at work lately!

My question of the day:

What's something you'd like to learn, but never did and wish you did?

Me, I wish I learned Sign Language. I know the basics, but to carry a conversation I cannot do. I wish I learned when I was younger, instead of me being too proud of my hearing impairment and refused!

I find it hard to take sometimes when a hard of hearing person comes up to me, sees my hearing aids and gets excited thinking I can communicate with them.. but ends in disappointment. :( This happened to me when working my retail job over the weekend!

I know some sign language.  My mother taught at the State School for the Deaf when I was a kid (living in another state).  When she signs I can understand more than I can sign back though.  I never learned enough to communicate with my clients; but at least I learned some etiquette and how to use the relay service, etc.  I also taught DD baby sign language and I'm starting it with DS.  It really helps.  My Mom used to teach beginner sign language too at a local vo-tech place.  You should look into it.  She had all ages in there!

For me it's how to crochet.  I tried to teach myself but whew!  My "weave" ended up super tight and my fingers felt twisted and beyond sore.
My Aunt is awesome; I should have just asked years ago!

I always wanted to learn to play the piano.
Lana, I took piano lessons for almost 14 years.....started when I was 4 years old. Even after I got married, my parents insisted that I continue my lessons, until I got brave enough to stop them.

I know a wee bit of sign language. When our grandson was very young, he had some serious ear problems and they had to put tubes in his ears. He was learning sign language at that time and I learned with him. He's OK now and can hear perfectly.

You all know that I would like to learn cake decorating. I would also like to learn Spanish.

I've always wanted to learn metalworking and woodworking; maybe someday we'll have room for a workshop. I would love to create jewelry and furniture, my style is art nouveau (nature-inspired), but with a sense of humor.

WOW, Pam. The more I learn about you the more I realize that we are very much alike. Except for cooking, canning, gardening. :flail: I do love to bake though. :D I also took piano from about age 5 till I was about 17 years when I finally got the courage to tell my parents I had was done. They wanted me (as well as my piano teacher) me to go to the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago. I played duets with my teacher at the Moody Bible Institute on a number of recital occasions! My parents were extremely disappointed in me to say the least. I don't play anymore and it is a shame. I think of taking it up again from time to time.

I also would love to learn Spanish. I do know quite a bit already from working around and with the mexican people at the horse stables for many years. I also took it in college.

AND :lol2:, I know some sign language. Would love to be "fluent" though. :D
