She came to us in 1996 and walked into the house like she owned it. She was afraid to sit on the furniture and was very content to lay on the rug right inside the kitchen door. She told us that her name was Whisper and she became the first RugCat. Two months later, she gave birth to five RugKittens in a clothesbasket in the bedroom. She was a wonderful adoptive mother to Banshee.....and even to both Rick and me. We were all her kids.

We said good-bye to Whisper this afternoon. She was 19 years old, in renal failure, and she could no longer eat that well. We knew it was time. Saying good-bye to such a trusted and loving friend is never easy, but we knew that it was the best thing we could do for her.

Baby girl, you can run and play at the Bridge without pain. Hydrox, Spike and Banshee have welcomed you with open paws. We will always miss you and you will be in our hearts forever.

Pam, I just saw your Facebook post and replied to that. Words cannot express how I feel .... I am thinking of you and Rick. But Whisper had a beautiful life with beautiful human parents. 19 is a wonderful age to live to, but it still is hard no matter what age. Now Whisper is with the rest of h er kitty family at the Bridge. Maybe she will meet my Boots, BJ and Ali there!

I'm very sorry you've lost Whisper, Pam. She was part of your life for such a long time and she'll certainly leave a void. What a beautiful, loving girl she was. RIP, Whisper.

I'm just seeing this today Pam and I'm so saddened to hear this.  I am so glad I was able to meet her years ago, she was so small and cute.  Besides other rugcats who will surely welcome her, I know Misty will welcome her also.  Again Pam, so sorry to hear this.

Pam :hugs: :vibes: :hugs: :heart3: I know you have mentioned about your dear :rbheart: Whisper not doing so well of late. I am sorry, so sorry that she has passed on to the bridge. It was her time and she lived to a ripe old age with a life filled with love, dreams come true and the comforts of a loving home but it is still heartbreaking and heartwrenching to let them go, say goodbye. My thoughts, prayers and vibes are coming to you today. I know :rbheart: Whisper was a very special kitty to you and Rick. I hope your other rugCats will be alright too as I am sure they will miss her. :shame: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: for all of you. :hugs:

Free to Fly now dear, sweet, gentle :rbheart: Whisper :rbheart: Don't forget to whisper to your momma's heart each and every day. She loves you so and will miss you. :rbheart: :angel3:

Thank you so much. We knew she didn't have much time left. But we're never prepared for it anyway. And it was so hard for Rick to make the decision to let her go. She passed away in his arms.

Nothing I can say will help you right now, just know you are in many of our thoughts and prayers. Whisper sounded like a beautiful lady, I'm sure she's playing with the others at Rainbow Bridge, young and spry again. RIP Whisper, you were loved very much!

Thank you. We miss her. It still seems strange to deal with seven instead of eight.
