Hi, I'm mommiz, I live in the country in a 3 story house with more than 10 cats. I joined to find out how cats with cancer progress, because one of  my cats named Sandy has a mammary tumor. She is in surgery today. I pick her up Thursday. #pawprayers would be appreciated. I myself own 4 cats. Meowers (15) male , Lars (4)male, Lilly (4) female & Precious(3 female). I am caregiver & "foster mom" to my children's cats. They moved out & were not able to take them & I knew better than to take them to a shelter because they only have kill shelters here. I care for two main coon cats, one is named Skuzzy (male) & the other is my daughter's blaze coon named Roosafee (he was named after the cat in the Cinderella movie), I also care for Loka (female), Tila (female age unknown), Kiki (female approx 5 yrs old), PJ (male 15 lbs, black w/gold eyes & a white heart on his chest) and Petie (male, age unknown, my Autistic son's cat). I look forward to reading about everyone's cats here, as you can see, I am hooked! lol

Thank you nurseangle and mani for the warm welcome. Sandy had a rough few days but is now eating again. Her mammary lump has shrunk a bit so I have hope she will be able to be with me & all her cat family for a while. I am going to take lots of pictures and enjoy her company and take very good care of her. A twitter friend introduced me to a site called sugarrub.org. To help bring awareness of feline breast cancer. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis & live with my Autistic son, so this journey just got a little more difficult. I have hope because without it what else is there.

Our Mollie had the same thing. We had it removed and as she recovered from surgery things were looking up for a brief time. It wasn't too long after that that she started to decline. She wasn't cleaning herself or mewing. She was a siamese and they are very vocal. She started staying in one place in the middle of the house off against a wall. From that spot she could see quite a bit of the house. I tried taking her to our bed where she loved to sleep but she'd leave and go back to that spot. After a while it seemed to be laborious for her to get around so I stopped moving her. I put some bedding down on that spot for her and we spent time with her there. She slept a lot and only left that spot to eat, drink or use the toilet. One day her breathing was labored and we took her to the vet who gave her an anti-inflamatory shot. It only worked for a little while and we had to take her in to be put to sleep. It was a span of a couple of months back in Nov. 09. She would have been 13 in May. I still miss her.
