Good night Shadow

He came to us out of the blue less than 3 weeks ago but we instantly fell in love with him and he with us. Unfortunately he apparently had underlying health issues and got very unwell. For a few days he kept recovering remarcably well but monday morning it went downhill, and fast. We tried to save him, as did the vet, but he was suffering too much. So we reluctantly decided to lay him to rest, so his pain would end. We didn't get the chance to even find out what was wrong with him, so that question will always be on our minds.

Never thought we could get so attached that quick. But both of us being huge cat lovers, and him being the best cat you could imagine made that possible. The way he gave cuddles, always saught our company, never meowed (only when rattling his box of dry food of course!), was so friendly and well behaved .. all in all a perfect pet and it shattered us both to let him go.

Shadow, as much as we wish you could still be with us and grow old with us, we had to say goodbye way too soon. Cross that bridge chest forward, you are going to a good place, and one day we will meet again. You will never be forgotten and will always have a place in our hearts.

I'm so very sorry for your loss, but happy Manou found love and happiness in his last short days. God bless you for showing him. You did all you could, sometimes whatever we do is not enough. Please know we are here to share in your pain, we have lost loved ones ourselves. We don't know the answers, but know time will help lessen your grief. RIP little Manou, know you are loved and never forgotten, please wait at the Rainbow Bridge for your family!

I am so sorry for your loss   Shadow sounds like an amazing little kitty ... and he obviously came into your lives for a reason... His last few weeks were filled with happiness and love because of you   Unfortunately sometimes we lose our little furbabies much too soon and without explanation or reason ... I lost my 6yr old furbaby suddenly in Dec-2012 to Cardiomyopathy (heart failure) and am still unbelievably devastated ....

Shadow will be with you always ...

It sounds as if Shadow came to you so that he had love and happiness during his last days. It such a shame he had to leave you so soon. My condolences to you. RIP, Shadow.

Thank you all for your kind words, I know everyone goes through this one time or another. Sometimes you wish your pet could grow as old as you.

The house feels empty and quiet now that he's gone, but our hearts are fuller than ever with his love.
