I think you meant a catheter? No. I just used a new needle each time and warmed the fluids.

I have heard of this, but figured it was almost as easy to just give the fluids the "regular" way then put our

thru the surgery necessary to have the tube installed.  Gosh, I had no idea it was 9 inches long!  Besides that, since part of the tube has to still be outside their body in order to attach to the IV setup to get fluids, I figured it could get caught on things, which could be a big problem!   Either that, or they would have to were some sort of body sock or something, so unless this were for short time, I, personally, wouldn't do it.  But that's just me.  But for our CRF guy, we got so used to doing the sub-qs that it was just 2nd nature
