Do you scan your calls ? Do you hate those credit card callers who just won't leave you alone ?

Do you have that one friend or family member who always calls so you have to scan your calls ? Or that ex boyfriend/ex husband who bugs you all the time?

If you don't want to answer your phone that is your business not theirs. when they ask you why didn't you pick up ? I know you where home. What do you say to them ?

My friends and family know that I hate to talk on the phone and that I often screen my calls. They leave a message and I when I feel like it, I call them back. Sometimes right away, or later that day, or sometimes not until a few days later.

I don't talk to often on the phone and neither does my family.  I don't need to screen. My husband is the only one who calls daily.  I usually do not have the cell on me so I call when I notice the missed call

I 'm not a great phone person. All the years of working in an office and being so nice to people on the phone makes me want to just avoid phones. Yes we do have caller i.d. and love it. You can avoid those boiler room sales calls, and just talk to whoever you want. And if someone we know calls during dinner or whatever, we can just call them back.

I screen, because I don't want to get stuck talking to a telemarketer! If I don't recognize the number, I don't pick up.  I don't talk on the phone a lot either.  Sometimes I will wait & see what someone is calling for, before, If I pick up. Then, I either pick up, or call them back later.

I always check out who is calling me before answering the phone.  My cable also shows anyone calling me right on the TV if I'm watching it and also the phone itself.  Sooooo if I'm watching TV I don't even have to look at the phone to see who is calling, I just have to look at the TV screen, cool.

I have never been questioned about not answering a phone call, they know better.

When somebody calls on the cell, if I don't recognize the number, I don't answer.

I'm on the phone a lot at work, so when I get home, I often don't feel like talking to anybody. There are a couple people I'll answer the phone for, but not many. Most of the time it can go to voice mail.

I can relate. Even though I'm now retired, I spent so much time on the phone while working that I hate the phone now.

Oh - Pam - if you see my name on caller i.d. will you answer it???

I had to answer our land line yesterday and I made a fool of myself.  My son was out with friends and it was someone wanting to schedule an interview with him.  I automatically went into my customer service mode.  I asked her "I am sorry, he is not available, is there something I can help you with?"  OMG...this is why I do not answer the phone at home.

That made me laugh. I used to do the same thing - I'd sometimes pick up and say "Mr. _____'s office".
