I did wrote up some more tip of toys that are free to my site here:
http://feralsaver.weebly.com/index.html

Then I thought that other ones might have some toys they have found that are working well with ferals so I opened this thread so we can share our creations :)

Here is no shops to buy toys for cats, I would need to travel quite far to get such and those generally are crap, so because I would not even have money to buy toys, I create free toys from abandoned stuff, also stuff that would be thrown away etc.

Bit similar way I modify my car to lower air resistance and improve fuel economy, my current record is 65MPG, by recycling stuff that were unusable for their original uses to my car and reducing drag coefficient while doing so.

Low cost is good, but free is better, so what kind of free toys you have made?

Our kitties love those plastic rings that come on milk gallons.

Lily adores playing with pipe-cleaners (ends folded over a couple times to prevent any eye injuries from the sharp points)

Thunder goes crazy over plastic straws (she will throw a cup on the floor to get it, full cup or not!) and nerf darts (not free, but buy a big pack and you have plenty to last a while!)

Paper grocery bags make wonderful caves and fun things to hide in and pounce at whoever is brave enough to walk past the opening.

Our semi-feral loves those tiny toy mice, dangling strings, other cats, and almost played with the wand with me but didn't because it would be too close to being with a human
(i saw that paw going up and that excited look in those eyes! You can't hide that from me Lucy!)
