So I got some moer bloodwork done when I took my Dora in to get her back leg checked. The vet called and said her Creatinine levels are at 2.8. Last year they were at 2.6, then went down to 2.4. I recently read articles online where people believe EVO food can raise these levels and thats what I have been feeding her for years. She loves it. The doctor said I really should consider prescription food for her. But I have read online that these foods arent any good for them either. Im stuck right now. I dont know what to do to help lower her levels. I have been giving her Renavast and Feline Renal Health in her food. So I wont know until a few more weeks if these things are helping. Have any of you had any luck lowering kitty's levels with prescription foods? If so which ones? I really dont know what to do and at this rate Im worried I could have done something different to stop this from happening. People also said they noticed their cats drank more water on EVO and my cat did the same. Im mad at myself for feeding her this, thinking it was really good for her. Any suggestions would really help and sorry for posting about this again

My holistic pet store guy told me the best food is Abady Apex 2 but getting her to eat it hasnt been easy. This article explains what the food is and it sounds amazing. I just dont know how to make it appealing to her http://www.doggiefood.com/whyabmusread.html

Ok, is she eating Evo canned or kibble...sorry, I can't remember
.  If canned, then have you tried just mixing a little of the Abady into the Evo and seeing if she'll eat that mixture, and if she does, then gradually increase the amount of the Abady (and decrease the amount of Evo) until it's mainly Abady?

If's it's Evo kibble, then try crushing some of that and sprinkling it on the Abady.

Otherwise here is a food chart from one of the best feline kidney disease website's out there.  Maybe it will help you find yet another food she might like?  http://www.felinecrf.org/canned_food_usa.htm

BTW, sorry to hear her numbers were up.  How were the other numbers?  Were they OK?  Was it just the creatinine that was up?
