Wednesday's Question of the Day: costumes?

Still recovering from a crazy but fun weekend at the Emerald City Comicon. I made the trip for our daughter and her friend so they could cosplay Homestuck and meet its creator, Andrew Hussie. We saw some amazing costumes (try googling "ECCC 2013 cosplays" images - very cool!) and it was like being with celebrities all the people who asked for photos of the girls in their cosplays.

So I'm wondering what really good costumes/cosplays have you seen or worn? When's the last time you wore a costume?

I love making costumes but don't usually wear them myself. The last time I wore a costume was a year ago in February at a "Heroes and Villains" party. I dressed up as Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.

When I was a teenager I won a fancy dress party price by going dressed as a shipwreck!

I should have known better than to let my friend, an actor and performance artist, talk me into going, and then dress me..

She put me in green and brown slimey looking ragged fabric, then draped bull kelp all over me.. my face was pained a pretty awful selection of colours, along with any other exposed skin.  She got me to walk in with a bucket of water in one hand, and a bucket of sand in the other, going 'swish, swash'.  I felt like an idiot, but the people there loved it (she must have known they'd be a pretty 'out there' mob). 

Last May at a hen party (Bachelorette)

The bride wanted us all in  rock and roll clothes, so we had to wear the same black and white polka dot swing skirts and neck scarfs complete with 50's glasses

My street cred went out the window that night 

Wow, probably back when I was in college and dressed like a clown one Halloween. I even sprayed my hair orange. It didn't all come out. :lol3:

I think the last time for me was in high school when we'd get extra credit for coming in dressed as a Roman to Latin class once a year.

Yes I did.  C'mon Susan!  You must have one of you somewhere!

I think that was a fun idea to dress up like that.  It's been ages since I've been to a bachelorette party; we never did anything like that!
