Hi Ladies,

My cat is 14 years old, FeLV + and also has kidney  insuffiency. These diseases were discovered when it was seven years old, when its sister died from FeLV . I have been giving it (of course at the VETS advice) LTCI shots first by week and later on monthy for more than three and half years. It lost some weight, but  lovely, playful sweet and definitely seems to feel well. The kidney disease is treated with some other medicines and we can manage the sympthomes. LTCI is very expensive for us but our little dear's life is worth for.

Hi Suzie,

I have 2 FELV cats and 1 unknown. My cats have thrived on regular monthly T-Cyte shots for about a year. Like Holly, my cats do need constant treatment. I am in Singapore and my vet is having difficulty importing more T-Cyte from the supplier. I am really anxious now as I am not sure how their immune will react without the monthly shots. One has fallen ill already and we are slowly bringing him back to health via tube feeding. If you have any contact at all for the treatment (i.e. your vet), can you possibly share this?

Many thanks,

Oaky

Hi,

I have been giving (actually my vet) to my 14 old cat LTCI for 3 and half year. It is quite well, the injections seem to save its life so far. Very expensive, we are getting it from MInneapolis Dr. Sandor Gál. I hope since your last message you could get this mecicine and your  cat is still all right.

Hi Julia thanks so much for getting back to me. Both cats are okay at the moment and our vet is desperately trying to get another supplier as the usual supplier has not responded. I will try writing to Dr Sandor Gal. Any information for us now is so very important. Thanks once again. Your 14 year old is lucky to have you. :)

Suzieloo, since you are in Malaysia can you get info and help from RetroMAD1 ? That is the drug that was mentioned above: http://biosatria.com/
Google it, the results are very promising, yet so far away for most of us!
Many healthy vibes for all our Felv & Fiv kitties :)

Hello Julia Seidner. I live in Italy, how do you get hold of the drug! I have two Felv positive cats who are asymptomatic at this point. I wrote to what was listed as the European importer, but was told they were still awaiting liscensing.

Thanks!

Does any one know if this is available in Canada, and or how I can get it in Canada,  My girlfriend and I just had our 8 month old cat Houdini tested positive for FeLV and it's breaking my heart.

Thanks

Hi Marzia,

Unfortunately this drug is not registered in Europe. I get LTCI from a vet working both in Hungary and Minneapolis. Anyway you can get in touch with the producer on phone:

800 -483-2104 ex 87, or

e-mail:

[email protected]

and they sure will deliver you the required injections.  You can find the address and phone number also in the Internet, if the above data are obosolate (I do not think that)

Hi Luca

I have been using this drug for almost four years. My cat was diagnosed four years ago FelVi +. He is still with us, happy and strong however he is 14 and half years old. He lost weight due to his high age and renal disease, but LTCi saved his life so far. Try to get it from the drug producer you will find it in the Net.

Hi, I am residing in Singapore too. May I know which vet(s) brings in T-cyte? I would like to discuss more with the vet. My cat and foster cat are already on Retromad1 years ago. Not sure if there's any conflict between the drugs. Thanks

Hi Suzi,

Im Sue from Malaysia, my cat called Range is positive FELV and FIV. He is now suffering from gingivitis, quite bad as he is relying on anti inflamation drug everyday. May I know which hospital did you get the LTCI treatment from? and how much does it cost for the complete jabs?

thanks

In my experience, the LTCI therapy did not work.

My cat contracted Feline Leukemia from his mother. When he was only 19 months old, he became very anemic, very quickly. This was a result of the FeLV becoming active. His bone marrow stopped making red blood cells. He received blood transfusions and was started on Epogen, Immunoregulin and Prednisolone, but no improvement. Since we had nothing to lose, my vet agreed to try LTCI. It is a series of 3 shots given several days apart. She gave the shots in conjunction with the other drugs - no improvement. She contacted a vet who had used the drug previously, and he suggested that we stop all other meds, wait for them to clear his system, then give the LTCI injections closer together, no more than 10 days from first to last. We did this, but no improvement. BTW, I paid $341.00 for the series of three shots of LTCI. There were other costs, of course, for tests and office visits, that have to be factored into the total cost.

About a week later, he developed fluid in his chest, which turned out to be lymphoma, a mass in his chest. We took him to an oncologist, who started him on chemotherapy, and after 3 treatments, the mass in his chest is pretty much gone. The oncologist also did cross-matching of his blood and gave transfusions based on those parameters. Using the cross-matching, we had a much better result with his red blood cell count than just doing regular transfusions.

It has been three months and 8 days since his first vet visit for anemia, and he is holding steady. He is not the lively, mischievous boy he was, but he still has his happy disposition and is not suffering.

Hi Oaks, and any others from Singapore,

Our cat's FELV+ and his health is going down fast. We'd like to get in touch in anyone in Singapore to learn from your experience/success in managing this disease in your cats. Please PM me, thanks.

This is an old thread, but I had my cat treated with T-Cyte injections about the same time in 2013. She fully recovered and actually tested negative a year later. My Vet was as excited as I was! Not sure it would make sense for elderly cats as it is expensive.
