Meet Duchess, she is about 3 years old an having her 5th litter! Her owner was keeping ALL her kittens, there was cats everywhere!! The pound was coming the next day so Duchess came to live with me. We can each only do so much, so I work with only pregnant cats. She is 7/8 weeks I'm guessing. This is only my second kitten season. Anyway feel free to comment, ask questions and be involved in Duchess's story :-) I will keep updated and pictures!

Looks like the name is PERFECT. She looks very regal.
I'm also going to be fostering during kitten season, keep us posted on her progress!

Thank you, she is the queen of this house already (pun intended) and she is the first one I'm keeping for myself!! I'll fallow your story as well, so much need for this!

She is almost certainly of no particular breed, and I she looks black or seal, not tortie.  I can't see if her eyes are blue in the photo - if they are blue she's a pointed cat, but that doesn't mean she's any particular breed.

All her points are chocolate tortie, not black and her eyes are blue. I agree she is a mix most likely, but she acts very Ragdoll.

Duchess is driving me NUTS with nesting! As I clean "her" room she is acting like I'm trying to help her find a nest. Jumping into boxes and stealing the socks. She is talking away poking her nose into everything I'm doing. So cute :-)

She is SO pretty!!! I can't wait to see what color kittens she pops out!! I only foster pregnant moms too. I will be picking up a new mama cat in a couple of weeks here. I have to set up my kitten room again! :-) I hope I get a pretty mama too.. They always get adopted faster. One of my moms last year was solid black and she only now just got adopted, a year later! :-( Keep us posted on Duchess and your other foster mama too!!

Oh yes, I shall! This is my second seasons so I'm still kind of new. But I love it! I know how hard the darker Kitty's are, I'm hopefully getting some blue eyes from her litter. I'm too excited! I can't sleep well cuz I keep thinking I hear labor meows when I doze off lol. Im glad there are others doing this to. Most people think I'm nuts for taking on the responsibility! :-) Do you Foster from shelters? I'm 100% independent. So even though I had 5 queens last year by this time I only have the two so far this year.

Most people think I'm nuts too... Especially my hubby! LOL. I only have one mom at a time so even though I've been doing this for almost two years I've only had three mamas. I foster through a shelter. This will most likely be my last time fostering for awhile.. Hubby and I are planning on trying to start a family in the fall so this will be our last summer without too many responsibilities. I thought I'd foster one last time and get it out of my system! :-)

That is amazing!! And good luck with baby making :-) I have 7 kids including a set of twins so I'm done with that lol!! I home school and we do one queen per bedroom. Cuz strays and rescues rarely get along from my experience. !! Can't wait to see your new momma!!

Duchess lost her plug today and has been sleeping like the dead all day. She is contracting every hour. But other then that, showing no signs of labor :(. Snowbell is the same only I can't really keep track of her contractions, I just know she is having them. Sigh, another all-nighter anyone :D

awww well done for taking pregnant ladies in. Im breeding my bengal and all my family are like omg why? think they are dog people lol. To be honest i love being midwife lol and nothing is better than a beautiful kitten! But for you guys to take them in as strangers during such a delicate time and build a bond and basically 'rescue' their kittens is amazing x x x

Thank you so much! And I would die for a bangle lol. So far out of my price range. But SO in love with the breed! I would LOVE to see pictures of your babies when they come!! I do love my job! I'm keep my first cat this year. Duchess is a rare beauty in my world and she bonded to me so strong it wouldn't be nice to send her off. :)

I bet! I wouldn't either!! Kittens are cute enough but a kitten with spots will take your breathe away:D No, I'm in the US. I don't know why I keep finding all these sites from the UK lol. Maybe it's a sign I should move. I been looking for a Great Dane and have responded to 4 that have all been from there lol!
