my siamese cat has had stomatitis for two years now. Before we found out she had it i noticed she used chew at photos and greeting cards. She was even chewing my starfish decoration in restroom.Has anyone else ever hear of this.
Lots of cats chew on things, it is not necessarily a result of the stomatitis.
What is being done for your cat's condition? What are you feeding her? Have you ever considered a raw diet for her? There have been some spectacular improvements for cats with stomatitis put on a raw diet.
Hi we had all her teeth removed apart from front ones. she was good for about 9 months then started again. She is very picky she gets free grain weruva, she is 11 now dont think she will ajust to raw food. She gets probiotic, q10,c caps for immune help in her food. she still eats royal canin renal dry food, takes her time with it. Before her teeth removed her mouth was lot worse. She gets quarter torbutrol for pain when needed never used steriodsbad for kidneys. I am waiting trying get medicine from dallas animal hospital, medicine for stomatitis.
I hope the dallas meds give her some relief. I doubt the chewing is related to stomatitis. I have a real chewer at my house...but it is not my stomatitis kitty....it is, however, my most "high strung", energetic kitty....I think he has some oriental traits, though he looks nothing like a siamese (other than his body type.) I think it is a stress relief sort of activity for him. He tends to do it when he is hungry too.
