My Shadow gets neutered in 5 days, as he turns 6 months in 2 days.  I am just wondering what behaviours will change after he is neutered.  He has some aggression now and he does try to get out(he is an indoor cat).  He also goes through these periods of complete craziness where he is super hyper for like 2-3 hours than he just collapses and calms down.  This happens about 2-3 times a day.  I always say that the hyper/craziness is because he is a kitten still but I am just wondering, will it be calmed down a bit after he is neutered?  He also doesn't like to be held for long, I am hoping that changes too.  He does like to come and cuddle but he just doesn't like being held.  Will that change?  I am just wondering so I can look out for those changes.

Your description of Shadow's behavior is all very typical of a healthy, active kitten.   In time, he won't be quite as hyper as often, but a lot of that will be due to his maturing into an adult cat as well as to neutering.  Different stages of life often lead to different behaviors - the kitten who had no patience to sit with you may become a purring lap cat a couple of years later.  There's nothing quite like the energy level of a kitten, so enjoy it while you can.  Before you know it, Shadow will be a big, handsome cat who may not be as easily amused by the games he once loved as a kitten.

Thank you for being a very responsible cat parent and having Shadow neutered.  He will be a healthier and happier boy because of it.  Wishing you and Shadow many happy years together!
