I have an appointment with the vet, but would like some opinions.

Sylvester is about 9 years old, and has been losing weight, but still has a good appetite and eats good.

He seems like hes cold often too.

Also he is not normally a lap cat and been wanting to sit with us and on our laps lately too.

Just wondering if thats a symptom of something

Thanks all

There are quite a few health conditions that can cause weight loss in an older cat, like diabetes, hyperthyroidism, kidney disease, cancer.....  so it's good that you have a vet appointment. Make sure they do a senior blood panel (which should include a T4 test) and urinalysis. Crossing my fingers that whatever it turns out to be is easily treated.

What does Sylvester eat, by the way? Have you noticed any changes in the amount he drinks and/or urinates? Has his food intake increased?

Thank you:)

No noticiable difference in drinking, eating  or litterbox use. He's mostly ate Diamond brand dry foods. Chicken Soup, and Diamond Naturals and Natural Balance. He gets a tablespoon of Fancy Feast canned in the mornings. I have fed Natural Balance canned in the past. But mainly FF

) or foundation (F1-F4) Bengal. I do forget

I can only tell you from my own experience, Cindy was eating fine, using the litter, etc., but she had also gotten pretty clingy with DH, wanting to be on him whenever he would lay down.  She was also losing weight.  Turns out she had cancer. My vet said sometimes weight loss is the only symptom.  Hopefully, that's not the case here, but it's good you're taking him to the vet.

Okay, I do not have many suggestions then. At least, that, have not been mentioned. I would recommend a general blood panel/PCR. Since, the loss of weight and the appearing to be cold, seems, to be common with all three cases, listed below.

I lost my F1 Bengal Taro, at thirteen years old to Lymphoma. But, since, Sylvester is only nine years old and not a foundation cat, I would not worry about that too much.

However, I also lost, my pure male African Serval, many years ago to Lymphoma. He was about nine years old. I am not sure, his exact age, since, I was his fifth to ninth owner. As well as, his, final owner. A week ago today, I lost, my F3 Savannah Loki to Lymphoma too.

Please, do not panic, since, F5-SBT Bengals are NOT prone to cancer. So, again, PLEASE, do not panic. Just bring him to the vet, like, you already stated
. But please, let me know, what, you find out.
to Sylvester.

When is your vet appointment. As for his diet, I am not familiar with the foods you mention. I think your cat needs to have a blood panel. It is a very helpful tool for the vet to be able to figure out what is causing the weight loss.
