Hello there my cat has been spitting up like a sneezing sound and then spits up white foam and a think circle when it dries looks like hair and grey stuff?? I have taken Phoebe to the vets 3 different ones and it is over a 1000. now and nothing, I need some help with this, please.... she was 2 and half pounds now we have her up to 4 and a half pounds, not sure what else to do, I have taken a short video on my cell and try to take it to other vets, but they all want to start over again with tests, we can not afford all of the costs??? Phoebe also always plays and runs around the house after, so have asked the vets if she is suffering and they say no but not sure what is going on???? Help..........

Ps I should add I have been trying, anything that she will eat, food from the vet and on an elevated board, creme and pablum, and I usually mash everything she eats, she has tried to get into the other cats dry stuff and she spits it up right away.

There could be a number of reasons your cat is spitting up foam from an empty stomach to eating something that has made them sick or even an obstruction. Did any of those vets do an xray? I am assuming so since you say that they did tests. It is possible that if she is feeling good, running around playing then it could be food related/diet. What are you feeding her as it was a bit confusing in your post. The reason I think it might be diet related or hunger is because you mentioned that you are trying to get her to eat anything. That is always a tricky one because they need to eat so they don't get hungry and nauseous. The Hill's diet from the vet might not be working for her if that is what you are saying you feed her. What does she eat each day? That would be where I would start. The diet.

Pablum and cream?... Isn't that rice powder? and you are adding full cream to that?? Oh dear - I would not think that is very good and could be very hard on her tummy. Did the vets suggest the pablum and cream. I certainly am very confused as to why that would be good. That could very well be the problem as most cats are lactose intolerant to begin with.

If the Hill's diet is not working, then I would revisit that as well. I do not believe there is a diet (Hill's or any other) that is for an inflammed throat. I am sure her throat hurts if she if vomiting so much but a food will not solve that problem. Finding the cause of the vomiting so it can be ceased will help her throat. Did one of the vets say her throat is inflammed and then put her on the Hill's diet for it???!!!!

What canned cat foods have you tried? Kitten canned foods are worth a try as well. Grain-free canned cat foods? She could be allergic to grains..... Hill's is packed with carbs and corn that are not good for cats. If she were mine, I would get her on a grain free canned diet right away and see if that clears up the problem. Try one and only one type of food at a time. If you combine foods then you will not know which one is causing the problem or solving the problem. A bit of detective work is in order here with Phoebe's diet.

I am so sorry about your kitty and you are trying. We want to help you and your kitty. Please let us know exactly what you are feeding everyday and exactly what the name of the food is, how much you are giving her and if you are giving the Pablum/cream daily. :vibes::vibes::vibes:

Oh I'm so sorry for your kitty, and you're trying so hard to help her!

How old is she?

I don't know what pablum is, but if it's a grain, I would definitely not feed it to her. I'd second the vote to stop the cream immediately. Cats are obligate carnivores, and what they do best with is meat-based proteins. Their bodies are designed to digest this. So to settle her tummy, I'd give her boiled chicken, boiled in only water, and shredded. Feed her some of the water the chicken was boiled in. This is NOT balanced, and is not a good long term diet. But it can be fed for a week or two safely, to see if it helps settle her tummy. If it does, then you know this is a food-related problem, and we can help you figure out a better diet than the one she's currently on. :heart2:

How often do you feed her?

Hi Nadine. :) I would only be able to follow the instructions to the link Mrsgreenjeens posted. I am not a "techy" person and can't even post pictures from my phone. :anon: I know, pretty bad, huh?! :lol3:

I know you are really in a difficult position with your kitty and seem so worried. But, I would follow LDG's advice about trying the boiled chicken and water for at least for a few days and see if her symptoms clear. I know I asked you this in an earlier post and will try again. What are you feeding Phoebe right now? What kind of cat food? Only the Hill's diet prescribed from the vet? What kind? The only way we can help is if you communicate these things to us. The video would help too. But, we are not vets and no one here can honestly tell you what is going on with your kitty. We can support and try to guess, but that is all it would be. Ultimately, if you think your cat is so unwell and not getting better, then I would go and pick up ALL of the tests that your vet did and they should not give you any trouble with that request as you paid for the tests. Take the copies to another vet for another opinion. If your current vet would not even watch the video and was so unwilling, then I would be done with that vet, in my honest opinion, sorry. :hugs: :hugs: We will try to help you here and support you. Again, we need to know exactly what she IS eating. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

OK. the A/D is good for ailing/sick kitties and most vets will prescribe that diet as an interim food during an illness. My next question is WHEN did you start feeding the A/D? How long on that diet? What was she eating before, when these symptoms began, if you don't mind my asking. Trying to figure out now if this is even diet related/allergen or if she really has a medical problem that needs to be found. If she is spitting/vomiting up the a/d, then the vet needs to be notified and again, I would get those test results and find another vet.

I'm not sure what is going on with Phoebe. I was able to view the video, but I didn't see any vomiting. She looked like she was doing a combination of sneezing and smacking her lips type motion? Does she do this every time she eats? If she does, then I think she may be allergic to something in her food. I would try the above suggestions of giving her plain cooked chicken and seeing how she reacts to that. It may take a few days, but if it is a food allergy, this can help you figure it out.

After seeing that video, your dear sweet Persian needs a vet and please show this video to your "new" vet along with the records you will bring with you from your original vet. It really looks to me that she is having some trouble getting air at one point in the video. Opening the mouth with nothing happening, then she shakes her head and gasps. I know you said funds are tight, but this cannot wait, IMO. I do not think or believe these episodes are caused from diet. There is more going on. Not sure what and no one can really speculate. Could be a number of things from allergies, asthma, something in her throat or esophagus, blocked sinuses...... goodness, the list could go on. I am sorry your kitty is dealing with this and sorry for you too, hun. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:
