Today when I had woke up my cat was howling a sound like i have never heard, I knew something was wrong. She was unable to pick her self up from the ground to even sit up. Her breathing was slow and she was obviously on her death bed.

Im not sure what happened to her, I was wondering is someone could maybe give me an idea through her syntoms because i do have another cat and im afraid he can get whatever was wrong with her.

About a month ago I took her to the vet because she was sick, she was diognosed with a urinary tract infection and an upper respitory infection. after a week and a half i took her back in the vet because i didnt see much of a change. They gave me more meds and treated her as an upper respitory infection again. Then my other cat got the infection so I treated them both with the new meds I got and they both were doing much better. Then about 3 days ago buddahs signs for an upper respotory infection started to come back. She started not eating again, which was weird because just a week ago she was eating everything she seen, and was finally starting to gain back the weight she had lost from being sick before. I havent thought much of it and just started to give her antibiotics like she had before and was gonna take her into the vet again for more tests because she kept getting sick. I honestly have no idea what could of happened. When i woke up and found her like this this morning it blew my mind I did not think it was this serious of an infection but i do not know what it could be.

Since i have got her she always threw up alot but i changed her diet and she seemed to be doing better, But i now wonder if it was related,

Has anyone had something similar happen to their cat and possibly know what could of happened to why she couldent move this morning or what could have been wrong with her? Im not sure if i should get my other cat dexter checked out or not

Sorry for your loss :(.

The only way to really know what happened is to get a necropsy (animal autopsy) done. If it's too late for that, call your vet for advice.

I'm so sorry this has happened..

I don't know that the vomitting would be related.. I have a cat who eats to fast and vomits, or vomits on rich food, but with the right diet has no problems.  It seems likely that her illness is related to her respiratory condition, or her heart.

Your vet would have the best idea of what happened to her, and I think it would be a really good idea to get Dexter checked, just in case.

I'm so very sorry for your loss, especially from an unknown reason. I agree with Many, it sounds like it was from the respiratory illness. It could have weakened a heart condition. But no matter what, you did all you could. I'm happy you were with her when she died, it broke your heart, but I'm sure it helped her. She knew she was loved and you were trying to help her. Definitely call your vet to see what they think, you don't want your other cat to have something deadly. I'll pray for you and Dexter, take care, RIP little one, wait at the Rainbow Bridge!

I'm so very sorry for your loss.  Definitely contact your vet and have your other kitty checked out.  Please be gentle with yourself in this sad time.

Hugs. I am sorry. Some things we just don't have answers for. It is always so hard to lose them suddenly. I am sure she knew how much you loved her.

Thank you guys! I was kind of curious in the possibility of her having feline lukemia, does any of the symtoms above sound like it could be that?

Losing a cat suddenly is very devastating ...  I lost my 6yr old Aby male 4 months ago.  One minute he was fine .... the next minute he had died.

I did have a necropsy (autopsy) done and he died from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy ..  You might want to ask your vet if this is a possibility with Buddah .. as one of the symptoms is Thromboembolism -- or a blood clot in the hind legs. This causes them to lose mobility/be paralyzed and apparently it can be very painful ...

I hope you find the answers you are looking for ... sometimes not knowing is the worst part

Buddah will be in your heart always
