I will be getting a mixture of 2 chemo drugs every 3 weeks for 4 sessions, and then another chemo drug every week for 12 weeks. After that I will be getting Herceptin every week for 52 weeks. The first 2 sessions will cause me to lose my hair but it will grow back during the last one.

I am fighting with disability since the say I can go back to work as of the 28th. I need to get the extension form for my doctor, but I cannot get through to the disability office and the form is not online. I will keep trying.

The chemo session went well. They explained everything to us as they went. After they drew blood from my port, I was given 2 types of nausea medications by IV. They also hung a bag of saline to keep me hydrated. During the first chemo drug, they pushed it for 30 minutes while I ate a cherry Popsicle. YUM!!  No problems. No problems with the second chemo drug which was given over an hour. Then I had to wait until the hydration was gone. It was not the experience I was expecting. I was expecting to get sick.

Next 2 weeks I got for blood tests, then another treatment. My hair should be falling out within a week or two. I can deal with that.

Considering the circumstances, it was a positive experience.

I'm just seeing this thread.  Sending prayers for a continued mild experience through the rest of the treatments.

Also wishing you luck with the disability!

So glad to hear it was a bit better than you expected! :D

...and now, guess what ?? You are 25% done with the first round of treatment!:clap: Not a bad number, right? Three more times and then you can cross this part off the list!:clap:

I'm sorry but I don't know why you are receiving Chemo without doing some research - but, like some others here, this is the first I was aware of this thread.

My husband just completed 6 sessions of Chemo in December - for Non-Hopkins Lymphoma.  He also did very well through all of the sessions,  We also took advantage of suggestions from Suzanne Somers' book that listed some supplements that would lessen the effects of the chemo entitled "Knockout  Interviews with Doctors Who Are Curing Cancer ...".

My best to you as you travel through this journey, and prayer that all will be well, and that the medical staff supporting you will be wise as they help you treat this disease.
