Hello everyone.

New here... obviously (^_^)V

In case you're wondering, my username means "cat's whiskers" in Finnish. It's a saying that is used often when you don't believe a story that someone is telling you, sort of what maybe you would say "you must be kidding" in English.

Our cat is a 10 year old grey lad called Perry. We got him just over a year ago from the shelter, where he'd been for quite some time. This regal but sad prince was suffering from quite severe food allergies and had lost much of his hair on the ears and his belly. And someone had also four-paw declawed him, which was definitely excessive!

And to top it off, he was very skittish - obviously having been treated none too well before being brought to the shelter.

But some TLC after we brought him home, along with a revised diet and lots of scratching behind the ears has brought him around and he looks better and better each day.

Sadly, we are having work done at our house this week, so we have taken him to a pet hotel to spare him the trauma of workmen. Alas, it will be odd to sleep the night without our purring fur ball (=^.^=)

Anyway. Happy to meet everyone. I will try to post a photo of our Perry soon.

Cheers.

Hello and welcome

It's so good to hear stories of cats that are elderly, or ill, or both, finding a wonderful home like yours... Good on you!

It's funny about cat's whiskers... Here in Australia (and originating in the UK) the cat's whiskers means thinking something is pretty good: eg:  She looked like the cat's whiskers in her ballgown

It sounds pretty good in Finnish (if I'm pronouncing it correctly in my head....
)

Looking forward to seeing pictures of your boy!

Hi, welcome to TCS!
  Your adoption story is lovely.    How fortunate that you found each other.  I look forward to seeing pictures of Perry, too.
