my cat has ulcer looking sores on his noes that were dianosed as not cancer.  They were removed and keep coming back. I put vasoline on them and clean his nose with saline but they will not heal or

go away. Am taking him back to vet but she says she does not know what to do about them.

Might be time to find another vet for second opinion.

If the sores are being caused by a bacterial infection, the cat needs some antibiotics.

How did the vet remove the sores?  That might be a clue as to their cause - and the solution, if there is one.  Does that cat seem to be in any pain?

To be truthful, they look a little like herpes sores.  Has he/she been tested for that?

Pretty cat - I love black  cats.  What's his/her name?

Hi, I hope you have gotten help for your cat's nose!

Our cat had a similar sore on his nose and--finally!-- he was diagnosed by a cat dermatologist as having herpes,

and can be treated with a prescription.

He has had this chronically, off and on  for over a year and our primary vet din't know what was wrong with him.

We had tried all kinds of antiobitics, steroids, etc.

A biopsy finally revealed the problem-- herpes, which is treatable.

Hope Java is better. Our cat, Mr. Cheechers, is also black!

Best, Eric

Hello

My cat Max suffers from something similar, after 3 different trips to the vet he was diagnosed with allergies, this can be from fleas or plants. I have some cream the vet gave me to help sooth this as he rubs it when bad. Also there is a weeds and plants i try and keep out of my yard eg wandering dew and morning glory which are know problem causes.  The vet told me to keep him indoors if I can ( but this is impossible with Max.).
