In my little corner of Massachusetts, the most famous people from this area are Lizzie Borden and Emeril Lagasse. BAM! :lol3:

Who is from your area?

Probably several but I was watching Celebrity Ghost Stories the other night, and it said the lead singer of the 1987 song "Head to Toe" is from around here. Her name is Lisa Velez

I was born and raised in The Bronx, NY. Jennifer Lopez was a Bronx resident. I know there are a bunch of others but I just can't think of them.

Now we are in Naples, FL. Judge Judy has a home here.

We once had an author in Newark Ohio that lived there and was signing books But I can't remember his name. Not famous like Stephen King.

Over the river and through the woods...
William H. Macy, Eddie Deezen and Rebecca Arthur all went to HS in my home town (Cumberland MD). Sam Perlozza was from Cumberland and I used to have a baseball card signed by him, from when he visited my grade school, but I have no idea where it is now. Oh, and George Washington was in charge of Fort Cumberland, which was the beginning of the town, so while he wasn't "from" there, he was a founding father.

Mike Tyson was living across the street from me when he won his first heavyweight title in 1986. This was on Lancaster St, in Albany NY. After he won, we all sat out on our stoops when he came home, and cheered for him. That was before we knew what a creep he was.

Fun thread. :)

Performers include Ron Glass, and Michael Rosenbaum (he ran into me once while getting strombolis).

Come from? Or lives there now?

I took her question as where they were born.
That's what I meant. :)

Well, I was born and raised in Denver, CO.  Lots of famous people lived there, but the old joke was that no one was ever born there.  That's not as true now as it was in 1952!

Catspaw66 and I went to school with Tim Allen, but that was when he was in fourth grade, between the two of us.  (His name wasn't Tim Allen at that time, but it doesn't make any difference; I'm sure we didn't know him.)

I'm a Memphis girl, born and raised. The list of "famous" people from this area is pretty huge, so I'll just post a link instead: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_from_Memphis,_Tennessee
The most notable residents most people would recognize would be Elvis Presley (actually born in Tupelo, MS, but since Graceland is here in Memphis and most people recognize Memphis when you mention Elvis, I'll throw that in there), Justin Timberlake , BB King, Isaac Hayes, Judge Jo Brown, Rufus Thomas, Danny Thomas (founder of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital), Michael Oher ("The Blind Side" was based on his story; he went to my rival high school. Morgan Cox, (also from Memphis) who plays for the Ravens with him, went to my high school.) Memphis can be a pretty rough city at times as far as crime goes, but there are still a lot of wonderful, positive things about this city, and I love it here. :)

Britney Spears, I've met her and her mother and sister. Harry Connick Jr.'s big sister used to work for my husband so he used to come into the store when he was a preteen. Many people live in New Orleans where I grew up. I now live on what we call the Northshore where many of the Saints players and the coach Sean Payton live.
