Strange question.....

Hello all...

I have a 13 year old big female tabby cat. Aside from slight asthma and a little overweight, she is very healthy.

About 2 days ago, she was meowing her usual amount. But I noticed her meow had changed....it was higher pitched than usual, and now, 2 days later, its still squeaky and high pitched.

In all the years I have owned her, I have never heard anything like this. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I would err on the side of caution and call your vet and take her in for a check-up. While she is there, you should ask them to run a blood panel on her as well, because of her older age.

Thanks for the advice. Like I said, she's healthy, and I just had a check up 4 months ago. I just wanted to see if any body else had experienced this....

I did quite recently and lost the cat as a result. Cats can get sick overnight, in a heartbeat. If could be nothing, but wouldn't you rather be safe and find out?

Sure, of course I'd rather be safe than sorry, but I know my cat. If something were vet worthy, I would have the intuition to take her.

Hissy, I'm sorry about your loss.
