I am posting this for a friend who needs support for her fundraiser. She needs as many people as possible to enter fundraiser link and then click the FB "like" tab within the link. PLEASE help.

"I've created a Hopemob.org fundraiser for my kitty Zak. A few seconds of your time would be much appreciated. Please click on the link to enter the fundraiser and then FB "like" fundraiser within the link. "Liking" the FB post doesn't count. As soon as Zak's fundraiser gets 200 "likes" within the fundraiser link, (Facebook and/or Twitter) Hopemob.org puts it in a category for receiving funds from a pool of donators.

I'm asking friends (and their friends) to please go into this fundraiser link and click the "like" FB tab. If you feel comfortable sharing this, my goal is to get as many "likes" ASAP. I'm asking you to post fundraiser on your FB page if you can. Please do not feel obligated to donate although any amount would certainly be appreciated. I know many people have their own financial constraints at this time. Thank you so much!

From the Mod Team Regarding Pleas for money:

Cats are a huge responsibility. Anyone who thinks otherwise, should not have one in their life. They are dependent on us for everything from providing a place to eat, to also providing vet care.

Anyone who has cats knows that they can and do get ill. Your best defense is to plan for that to happen before it does, and store monies away in preparation.

If you read about a plight of an animal on the internet and your heart is drawn to help. Check out the story thoroughly. Google the vet's name or call Directory Assistance in the city and be sure this is a legitimate claim.

Do not blindly send money into a paypal account no matter how heart-wrenching the story. Instead reach out to the member and ask for the vet's name and phone number, and arrange to send the money there for the specific needs of the cat in question.

If that information cannot be provided- you have your answer. Report the post to a moderator so that it can be removed for not being on the level.

Hi Karen: I completely agree with your statement and Maria (my friend) has posted info about the vet hospital (Angell in Boston) and we certainly would welcome folks calling to confirm the information. This website HopeMob will actually be making the payments directly to the hospital as does the Petchance website, so as to mitigate any possibilty of scam or fraud. Thanks!!
