I feed 3 ferals, One of them i call black cat, shes a female, i feed her everyday, She's clearly not use to being touched, but she does let me hold her for a second, and sometimes she will come inside to eat then go back out. Earlier, I went to pick her up, and noticed that her nipples felt alittle big and erect. I havent noticed this before, but ive also never paid attention. She's fairly young, probably no older than 1 and a half. I dont know if maybe she could have been pregnant before, she's not that big, no baby fat. Then, again. She's kind of agressive around other cats, so i dont see how she would let one mate with her. Could she be pregnant?

I have tried before, she will sit by the door and meow constantly forever. I guess i'll just wait and see if she gets any bigger.

If not neutered and no longer young kitten, count on she is pregnant.

That is why TNR:ing is so good, practically necessary, if you want to come somwhere.

I suppose she will accept to be taken in later on, when she is high preg, and knows her kittens needs shelter for surviving and thriving.  And as you being her best bet, she will not hesitate much.   :)

We do see this wonder with semiferales time and again...   Them accepting to be inside, and the humans handling the kittens, as long they are respectful.
She's kind of agressive around other cats, so i dont see how she would let one mate with her.
Oh, there are at least two different ways.

1. A dominant, territorial, experienced tom simply takes what he wants, beating her up, if necessary.

Also that grip biting her in the neck does help here a lot.

2. A friendly tom does court and is beleguering her instead.   :)

It may even be quite a love stories sometimes.   :)   Or they get at least pals afterwards.

Good luck!

A female in heat will accept a male, even if she normally hates other cats. . .biological imperative and all that. Hormones .

I'd suggest having her spayed as soon as the vet will do it. If not, she'll have 2-3 litters a year, every year. . .

I have a very similar situation. When I moved into my duplex last year there was a sweet cat that lived on the property. My neighbor's and I fed her and about 9mmonths ago she had a litter of 3. Now all 4 cats live outside and we feed them regularly. Mama Cat as we call her, comes inside to eat and hang out but always goes back outdoors. She is nowadays very very pregnant again and from my reseach seems due in the next week or two. Unlike during the first pregnancy, its very cold out and my first response is to keep her inside. She seems okay with this and is more affectionate than usual, she's even showing signs of starting to nest in a drawer and my closest. Idont know if I should keep her inside, or just let her do her normal routine. Ive never help ed a cat birth so I'm not sure what's the best course of action. If anyone has experience or advice, please help me and Mama Cat out.

Unfortunately whilst feeding ferals seems kind, it will lead to a population explosion unless you also do TNR - Trap, Neuter, Return.  A friend of mine has this problem and has gone from one or two ferals round her house to almost 20 in a couple of years.

Exactly what you do, depends of course on what you can and want to do.

The optimal is surely, if you take her in NOW, and have her as strickt indoors at least as long as you have the kittens with you.   So she gets her kittens at your place, inside.  You can thus easily socialize them, and when they are 10-12 weeks, adopt them out into homes.   (spaying them before adoption, or at least get a solemn promise from new owners to spay).

You do spay Momma Cat, preferably when kittens are 8 weeks.. Earlier, if she is by any reasone allowed to go out.

With any luck, she will be under the time socialized and fostered herself, accepting to be an inside cat. Or possibly, inside cat allowed to go our.

You choose to adopt her yourself if you want and can,  OR find her another home.

If she doesnt get fully socialized, you can have her as you had, as your outside kitty.

You do preferably do spay all the others cats under your protection and ownership, ie her earlier litter.

As said, she at this moment will accept being inside kitty with you. Because she like all mothers, for her is most important the welfare of her kittens, not "freedom" as such.  If she recognizes you are the best practical chance for them, she will accept you and your home.

She already is, as you tell she is preparing nests inside your home.

You ARE already Chosen. Please do obey.    :)

Thank you for your response! She definitely has chosen my fiancee and I. She has happily been inside for most of the past 2 days. She comes outside when we do, but seems to answer to her name and is never far away. Thank you for the timeline on when to have her spayed. I'm not sure what the future holds for her kittens tho. The ppl I share my duplex with love having all the cats around-as do our land lady. They were actually quite upset when a friend adopted one of Momma Cat's first litter! This is the first time ive hooused a cat that wasn't toilet trained ( crazy I know!) But being as she's used to being outside I'm not sure what to offerher for a litter box. Suggestions on anything would be much appreciated! Thanx!
