Monday was the day I've awaited for several years. We finally welcomed two kittens into our home, Tiramisu and Honey Pie:

We're not exactly sure how old they are, but they are about 8 or 9 weeks. Both are boys. We couldn't have asked for better kittens.

So cute. Makes me want kittens too. I'm so glad your story has a happy ending. I've been following your story with interest.

Aw, thanks you guys!

This might sound totally corny, but I feel like we've found a piece that was missing.

Also, I have a new-found appreciation for the term "meowmy." I'm not overly sentimental, so I never thought I'd apply that word to myself. However, I now realize that one does not choose to be a meowmy. One is chosen, awarded the title. I would have to say that that moment came on Wednesday, when one was already sleeping in my lap and the other kept trampling over him, until I realized that he was also looking for a space in my lap in which to sleep. So I cradled him in my arms until he dozed off. Since then, at nap time they are happiest if they are either on me or right at my side.

They are just two of the cutest little fluffballs. I am sure they will bring you many hours of joy.

Oh my goodness! They're so sweet!

I'm exhausted just looking at them.  I brought twins home in January 2012. They are now 2 years old. Man, I sure discovered that some things need to come in pairs, and one of those things are kittens.  They had so much energy that I was thankful that they had each other to play with, because I just couldn't keep up!  LOL

Thanks everyone! They continue to delight us every day. My husband never was around cats before (he was always a dog person) and he can't get over how affectionate, playful, trusting, and quiet they are. He's a soccer fan and he was thrilled to see them play "soccer" with a crumpled ball of paper.
It's cute to see him get all excited to prepare a meal for them.

Yesterday, I clipped their nails while they were asleep. Honey Pie woke up part way through, watched me cut a couple of his nails, and went back to sleep. Honey Pie is definitely the more robust kitty. He often takes the dominate role when playing with Tiramisu (though Misu sometimes tries his best to give it right back). Tiramisu is more like a baby. When he cuddles, he often doesn't just curl into a ball in my lap--he'll snuggle against me, and the closer to my face, the better.  I know I'm not the first person to feel this way, or to have these experiences, but it is my first time with it all. I feel like we hit the kitty jackpot.

Congrats on the kittens! We also have found that kitty soccer is very entertaining!

Yeah :) They are so young and innocent now! No wonder you feel like their mommy. I think as a kitten grows into a cat, they tend to become friends rather than foster-children, which is different but just as good. Enjoy watching them grow up!

LOL, as much as we're loving their kittenish antics, I'm really excited to see their personalities develop as they get older. I'm completely OK with being "friend" instead of "mommy."
For the time being, though, I'll soak it all up.
