Good grief!  It snowed in Phoenix AZ yesterday.  What's going on ?????  Earlier this week it as in the 70s, then yesterday, out of the clear blue sky, almost literally, it was snowing.  It never snows in Phoenix (it didn't snow at our house, but snowed all around us)

My sister called me just after dark and told me her entire yard was covered in snow.  I was so shocked that I drove over there this morning, and sure enough, some of it was still on the ground when I got there around 10 a.m.  She has a swimming pool, and said it was the funniest thing to see that nice blue blue surrounded by snow.
BUT, here's a picture of a car right around the corner that was still in the shade!  You can also see a little  snow on the ground still

I know you folks that live up north think "big deal", but for us, this is a true phenomenon.  Lots of people here have never, ever seen snow!

I think it's a big deal.. I remember when it snowed in Tasmania once.. it does snow on the mountain near the city, but never down low.. people where trying to ski (very unsuccessfully) down the street.  It was such a novelty!

Weird, though, where you are.

I'd be running over to that car and building a mini snowman

In Ohio it is icy on sidewalks. We may get some more snow.

Yes, but in Ohio, that's the "norm" in the winter, is it not?  In Phoenix, I think they reported in the newspaper that it did actually snow 55 years ago, but it didn't stay on the ground but a minute!

We just got 6 inches :tongue2:. But, wow, it's weird that it stayed for so long with temps like that, in the sun! How deep was it to begin with?
