Hi.  I know we have corresponded by PM before.  Have you considered contacting the Dallas clinic?
i am looking for best immune supplement
You often need something with immune suppressing qualities, which involves medicines like steroids, not natural supplements.  I'm a huge fan of trying natural supplements, though.  We've tried omega 3's (salmon oil) because they fight inflammation.  We've tried CoQ10.  We've given her l-lysine because she might be battling feline herpes, but don't know for sure if that has anything to do with her stomatitis.  We've given her probiotics, just for general good digestive health....not necessarily related to the stomatitis.  I really believe in giving the most nutritious diet you can too....for us that was feeding Lucy a balanced diet of raw meat.

While I'm all for trying natural alternatives, at some point I had to allow the vet to treat her pain and inflammation with traditional medicines (she was still in pain 8 weeks after extractions.)  Depo-medrol (a steroid) gives her fabulous relief.  Even if it ends up making her life shorter, it will be a less painful life.  As I mentioned before, we are also trying the Dallas clinic medicine.  We should know whether it is working soon.  It does not contain steroids so is a safer alternative, though still contains traditional veterinary medicines.

Hi langholm and welcome to the forum!

I'm going to offer a suggestion that I myself would avail of IF I were in your shoes, and it's this: THE single, most concentrated online resource for info/advice/support when dealing with Stomatitis is to be found right here: http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/Feline-Stomatitis/?v=1&t=search&ch=web&pub=groups&sec=group&slk=2

Specialized groups like this one exist for almost every chronic feline health issue - they have an enormous collective experience available on offer AND they are always up-to-date on leading-edge treatments and trials...as an example, you'll read this on that page:
UPDATE: (North America Only) There is a new, inexpensive and easy to obtain treatment now available! Currently in "trial" phase. Upon joining this group, you will receive a file about this drug. PLEASE READ IT! It has been VERY SUCCESSFUL in treating this disease!! Worth a try BEFORE doing extractions!
So, if one of mine was dealing with Stomatitis, that's where I'd be!

Hope this helps!

Glad the yahoo group was linked. It is a good resource. Just about everything that can be tried is discussed. The trial mentioned is the Dallas clinic I gave you the info for.

me too, ONLY i CANT GET INTO THE THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!  STUPID YAHOO.

OK White Shadow, I do not know how to private message anyone.  Here is what I just posted in the POTHER stomatitis discussion:  I really would LOVE to join the Yahoo stomatitis group but have just spent a WHOLE HOUR trying to create a new yahoo profile so that I COULD ask to join, and yet when I click on the JOIN GROUP square everythinghing now just goes BLACK (before that it told me I had to create a yahoo profile, which I DID!)  It signed me into an old one with an email address I no longer have, so I created a new one, but this is just too damned technically challenging for a 70-yearold!!!!  Geez, why couldn't it just take my CURRENT Facebook profile?  Oh well.  I STILL want to join the yahoo group because I have two cats with stomatitis and would certainly like to know if ythere's something else I can use.;  They get the dexamethasone shots every month and they get lysine in their food and there's a new something I want to try -- I wrote the name down somewhere but it isn't in my brain yet.  It costs $18.00 to buy online so I will get some on the 3rd when my social security money comes in.  I am really disappointed that I cannot connect with the yahoo group, so I hope people who are in that group also  will share stuff on THIS stomatitis group to which I have subscribed.

Update:  I just created yet ANOTHER Yahoo profile and finally was able to apply for membership in the other group.  I could not add picture to the new profile because it said "Sorry, site is currently undermaintenance, please try again later" so perhaps the page going black before was actually a Yahoo problem and not me.  Anyhow, hopefully I will be accepted into that group.  Thanks for telling me about it.
