Have you ever donated money, food , newspaper for cats, hay for horses  or whatever the case may be ? Or it could just you donating your time to help these animals with some love. I can say the only thing I have done was donate cat-dog food sometime ago but I will do it again.

I used to volunteer at a cat shelter.. but I had to quit as I unintentionally keep getting my own cats sick (URI, Ringworms.. the ringworms was the last straw.) I really enjoyed helping out there, but my own cats comes first and I don't want them to get sick anymore.

but I did donate litter and canned food when I could. When I find them on clearance at the petstores, I usually buy them up to donate

I've donated old towels and sheets to the shelter. Also a cat tree and cat bed. After all, our cats don't need a cat bed when the hog the real bed!
I considered voluneering, and even got an application, but I'm afraid I'd want to take home every little kitty or puppy I fell in love with, and I know I'd fall in love with all of them.

When I was unemployed, 2 yrs ago, I volunteered with a cat adoption team every other Saturday (teams alternated Sat.s), at Pet Smart.

I miss it, but work on Saturdays now, & don't have time on days off anymore.  If I ever had more time, I think I would do it again.

I have half a bag of Natural Balance Limited Ing. Duck & Pea, that I will be donating to adopt an angel. (Sense Angel doesn't get dry food anymore), & I hate to throw it away while it's still good until October!. I just have to remember to put it in my car, to drop it off at the Pet Supermarket.

After I put my dog to sleep I donated a bunch of treats/food I got.  I don't donate much as I need everything for my crew.  I know have the cats, a dog and a puppy who is in love with nylabone chews:)

I sometimes drop a bag of Cat Chow and a bag of Dog Chow off (they specifically request Purina Chow foods). Maybe a bag of litter, too. I once went and walked a few dogs, but they have a lot of volunteers for walking so I don't think that was really needed.

My vet did a program with a local rescue group working closely with the shelter where your pet received a free microchip if you brought in donations.  I brought in old sheets and a couple of bags of litter that I bought for cheap.  I still had to pay the activation fee for the chip, but it seemed like a good deal.

I know what you mean about falling in love with all of them. Especially the ones with problems. If I was volunteering at a shelter and a three legged kitty came in I could never leave him there! A couple days of this and I'll be knee-deep in cats lol.

I decided to help by making little blankets for the shelter cages. That way I can give the cats some comfort without meeting them and wanting to bring them all home. Sometimes I donate a few cans to the pet food pantry because I don't want anyone to not be able to feed their cats.

I do donate regularly to the local shelter. Canned food mostly. I get the huge package of Friskies pate from Costco. I also donate lots of LOVE to those kitties who need someone to care. I just recently moved and am soon going to start volunteering at either a local humane society or a feral org., or both!!!!

due to working 65 or more hours a week as well as taking care of my feral colony i am unable to do any volunteer work at my local shelter - i just don't have the time available.

i did donate and install new flooring for the shelter and i donate money to it. i also try to get corporate sponsorship for the shelter when it has events. i do also donate money to alley cat allies, the local (sort of local) low cost s/n clinic - they have done quite a few of my feral cats, and my town's animal control office. my local aco does tons of work to help out with tnr, much of it in her "free time". i do occasionally give my aco cases of canned cat food to bring to other feral colonies, ones where the caretaker can not financially feed anything but dry food - just want to put a smile on the other feral cats faces from time to time.

I would love to do something for the cat shelter. A dog shelter is just too loud for me.

yeah, if/when i ever start to have free time i will begin to work regular shifts there. occasionally, when there is some "heavy lifting" to do at the shelter (pallets of litter being delivered or pallets of cat food) they call me so i can help - there are almost no men that volunteer there.

While I don't often donate cash or supplies to our local SPCA, I do buy most of our cat food from the store that's attached to the shelter. They have most of the higher-end food brands and they're about the same or sometimes cheaper than Petsmart or Petco places, and the profits benefit the shelter. I also bought Christmas cards there, silly cat ones of course! And the past 2 years I entered a raffle around Xmas/New Year's and won both times! Advantage last year and a basket with food and toys this year. I think I bought about $20 worth of tix each time though..
For a good cause! I didn't expect to win, but I figured if I did then that'd be a bonus!

I also usually put a few $$ in the donation jar when there's a rescue group having an adoption day at Petco/Petsmart. I know you guys work hard and can use all the support you can get!

My husband and I donate yearly to our shelter's Adopt A Kennel plan. Whatever cat is in that kennel gets adopted out free. We also will go in once in a while and pay for the adoptions of pets that are there too long, or too old, etc. to try and give them a chance. Some people, especially the elderly, would love to have an older pet, but can't afford all the initial fees. I know I'm going to be doing this more and more, because I don't want to get a new cat now and worry about outliving them. We have a wonderful director there that does a wonderful job finding GOOD homes for the animals, not just any home. My heart breaks when I think of an older housecat going to a farm, especially the declawed ones, and this happens at other shelters who just want to make room. I tried to think of it as any home is better then none, but it breaks my heart. What better way to get a tax write off then saving a life? People make me so mad when they say "why aren't you spending money to save a child, instead of a cat?" But my answer to that is there are a lot of government programs out there that take care of children (believe me, I know, I work at a school!) that I am already (and willingly) paying for, these poor animals cannot speak up for themselves, and our laws, as they stand, barely protect them now! And why are some people so cruel to cats? My heart breaks when I read about some new horror in the paper, or a starving, sick kitten shows up at my door. Or like last year when a beautiful old neutered, declawed male showed up, covered in his own saliva,  disfigured and drooling from oral cancer at my door. Someone had dumped him, and  someone shot him in the hip, I'm sure because he tried to find comfort at an anticat house! We took him to the vet, started him on steroids, and since we knew he was unadoptable, gave him a loving home for the last year of his life. I wish you could have seen the change in him! He ran, he jumped, he rolled, he was happy! RIP Hobo!

We donate to a no-kill shelter during the holidays. When I have some good coupons for pet food, I'll buy it and take it to them as well. Old blankets, towels, and such are well-received.

Once I retire and have more time, I'd really like to donate some of my time to the shelter.

And with eight cats in the house, just doing everything we do with our gang is pretty much a full time job sometimes. Sometimes I feel that the only reason I work is to provide for the cats, with all the food, litter and vet bills.
