Good morning everybody. My name is Alex and my wife Vicky and we live in Toronto, Canada. We are taking care of a stray cat Tigress who is about 5 years old.  We created a campaign on indiegogo to help with veterinarian expenses for Tigress and the response from people was Amazing. In just 5 day we raised 90% of our goal. However the vet expenses are going beyond my estimate, so I would like to publish my campaign here as well.  Please help and donate. Any penny towards her healing counts.

You can read the full story on the campaign website

Please share the story with your friends

Thank you,

Sincerely,

Alex and Vicky

A reminder from the Mod Team Regarding Pleas for money:

Cats are a huge responsibility. Anyone who thinks otherwise, should not have one in their life. They are dependent on us for everything from providing a place to eat, to also providing vet care.

Anyone who has cats knows that they can and do get ill. Your best defense is to plan for that to happen before it does, and store monies away in preparation.

If you read about a plight of an animal on the internet and your heart is drawn to help. Check out the story thoroughly. Google the vet's name or call Directory Assistance in the city and be sure this is a legitimate claim.

Do not blindly send money into a paypal account no matter how heart-wrenching the story. Instead reach out to the member and ask for the vet's name and phone number, and arrange to send the money there for the specific needs of the cat in question.

If that information cannot be provided- you have your answer. Report the post to a moderator so that it can be removed for not being on the level.

Dear forum members

I also encourage to check my story about Tigress thoroughly.

I joined the forum about a year ago in April 2012 and asked people for advise about our stray cat, who developed some so weird sores. I also have pictures of her and it can be checked on my previous posts from last year. Unfortunately we couldn't trap the cat for a long time and finally were able to trap ( or take her to a vet ) when she almost froze on a cold January day ( temperature was below 0 Fahrenheit )

Read her story in the indiegogo  website and make your judgement.

Also there is a facebook group with 27000+ followers who helped us a lot to bring this story to as many people as we could

I would like the OP to provide evidence of the vet practice which is treating said cat (which, BTW is not the one pictured).

Unfortunately at this time I can't provide the vet details. As per the pet hospital request lots of people will start to call and they don't want that.

I might scan a receipt as an evidence.  The cat on the picture is her kitten "Chicken", he was adopted at a later point, and Tigress herself neutered.

On the donation website you can see a collage of several of her kittens while Tigeress in the middle and all of the kittens got adopted

Providing the name of the vet shows honesty and transparency for your cause.

Most people would feel more confident sending help directly to the medical practice, not to some unknown person who is not providing any real information to go on.

Any reason why?.
As per the pet hospital request lots of people will start to call and the hospital doesn't want that.

They are subsidizing the treatment by a big percentage because of the nature of it being stray cat and I don't want to go against their wish.

I can only say this is a pet hospital in Scarborough, Ontario and its located near Toronto, Ontario

That's just someone's RSS Feed.

It means nothing.  Anyone can start one.

There isn't even anywhere on it to get in touch with someone to verify if the story is true.

Just reminder to our members to check things out thoroughly before sending any money. The internet is unfortunately rife with scams. We do get a lot of legitimate pleas for money, but at the end of the day it is up to the individual member to decide whether they are personally comfortable with trying to help.
