question thats very weird. first off, my vet wont check/treat cassie (took in a stray a few months ago) and her 6 kittens without me paying 7 cat evaluation fees, plus whatever they need to do for each individual kitten and cat. and no other vets are willing to take on new clients right now.
i have another cat whos spayed and 9years old.
anyways, what can cause cats/kittens to sneeze(or spit hissing- but definantly sounds like sneezes), and one kitten is making purring sounds or crackling sounds off and on (not really sure anymore), the kittens will be 6 days old by tonight.
and they have watery noses and some water droplets near their noses off and on. they sound like they have a lot of saliva in their mouths (momma cat too). and momma cat is gulping as if she is having moments of 'about to puke'. (does the movement that they do right before they ate too much and they puke(not hairball puke but upset tummy kind of puke).
the kittens seem like a sick baby where they just whimper and cry and theres not much other than sleep that makes them quiet down-one in particular is a constant whiner but the rest arent that cranky). and they have a lack of smell(momma cat got litter on her nose because she had to get that close to smell it and make sure it was a litter box)
my other cat isnt sick at all.
AND im sinus and cough sick since last night (they started getting sick yesterday in the late afternoon) (ive had sinus issues(i thought it was allergies to the new kittens) but i didnt get a cough and congestion until last night)
so my question is, why are both of us similarly sick, and what could cause this? what can i do to make things better for them? (even down to cleaning and things. how much cleaning is too much? and what not to clean? and etc..)(i clean the bedding daily)
can they get better without any vet care? how likely and what home remedies can help(if any)?

(sry if theres any typos-hard to type this all out and catch them with my phones keypad)
i chose this forum instead for the preggo kittens one because it involves humans and possibly my other cat.

I think the first thing to address is trying to help those 6 day old kittens and Pregnant cats and kitten care is the forum for that because there are experienced members who can guide you. So, if it is alright I will ask that this thread be moved right away. Most any in that forum can also answer your other question about zoonosis (you getting your cats sick or visa versa.

:vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: for those kittens and I am not sure they will be alright without veterinary intervention, hun. Hope others can help. :cross:

I dont have good answers at this moment, save agreeing with Feralvr try and take care of the smallest and preggo first.

Keep them warm and well hydrated, if we cant come for better ideas.   :)

L-lysine is supposed to work nicely for cat URI (probably human uri too, I suppose).

Get also home dextrose/glucose, if you ever must make a home pedialyte, or otherwise must boost up their energy.

Cat flu and human flu isnt supposed to be contagious for each other.  So my guess is, it is pure coincidence both you and your cats has similiar problems at this moment.

Good luck!

thanks so much!
they are better now.
idk if it just played its course or me moving them out of the bathroom and doing a thorough cleaning of the house (the tiles this place has down on the kitchen werent glued to the floor and i found a bunch of spray paint over stuff and mold on top of most of the spray painted globs and all over the under part of the plastic tile things) i broke down and sprayed the whole kitchen (which is smaller than my bathroom lol) down with lysol and opened the door with momma cat and kittens in my other cats cage.(i dont have to worry about abby making a run for it- while momma would bolt if she got a chance mainly because shes in heat. -i sooooo cant wait until i can get her spayed- mwroww MRRRRRIOOOOWWWWWWAAAAHHH MROOOOEEEWWW (lol)
(i'll be moving sooon so i can get into a much better appartment complex)

Ah, mold, and old bad paint stuff on top of it, can cause uri- alike symptoms with almost anybody. Surely with humans, and possiblly also with cats...

Another lesson learned, both you and me....     :)

Very good it is better now.  Tx for telling!
