Hey all,

My cat has had this issue for several years now but I think it might still be growing. I went to the vet with him but the vet said it was part of his personality/character.
I was hoping if there were any cat experts on this forum that could help me cause for some reason i'm not trusting that vet anymore. Here are some pictures :

I feel really bad for him because we had to move him upstairs because the other cats were picking on him. My mom fears the nose will eventually become so big he won't be able to breathe through his nose anymore. There also seems to be some kindof wart growing on top of his nose lately.

Thanks in advance,
Tim

Hello Tim! Welcome. Good that you posted a picture. I can see in the second picture that there is also hair missing from part of the nose. I honestly believe you need to see another vet and the sooner the better. This is not part of personality/character according to your vet. It could be any number of medical possibilities, but I can tell that your cat's nose is not something to ignore and your kitty must be uncomfortable. Best to find another vet asap. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: Keep us posted, please.

I completely agree with everything Feralvr has posted. This is not normal and not just part of his personality/character. I would definitely get him in to see another vet, sooner rather than later. Good luck and please keep us posted. :)

I'm sorry about your cat. You should go see another vet, this does not look normal. Best of luck to you and kitty

It is alright to "believe" in your vet! Sometimes you have to keep trying other vets to get to the bottom of something that you know is just not right. And, the good news is that you came here to TCS looking for guidance. Please do keep us posted on your kitty, ok? :hugs: :vibes::vibes::vibes:

Hi Nobleboi - Did you get an answer about your kitty's nose? My cat has a large nose that I think is growing... I don't know how to attach a picture here. Everyone has always commented on her big nose... I always thought it was the way she's made until now. I hope you can tell me what your vet said. My girl was sick recently and I took her to three vets - had nothing to do with her nose though - they didn't make a big deal about her nose Except they all said it was huge.

What was your outcome? My cat has the exact same thing.

I just rescued a cat with such a big nose. Does anybody know what happened with the cat from this post?

I think it looks like the original cat had some kind of growth on his nose, so if your cat is showing the same thing, my advice would be for you to take him to the vet.

He was seen by the vet and the previous owner was told that there was nothing wrong (medically). I will go and see my own vet. It would have been great to know what happened to the 2 other cats from this thread.

It turned out to be Feline Plasma Cell Pododermatitis or Pillow Foot. If condition is not treated it can result in the cat getting a bulb nose. The gums are also affected.

My cat has the same thing. I took her to the vet and they didn't even say anything all they were concerned with was if shed had all her shots. I feel really bad for her because it hasn't stopped growing. It was fine when she was born then after about 5 months it started growing and hasn't stopped. She has a lot of discharge from her eyes and some from her nose . All the hair has started to recede and it's red and seems like it hurts . She's very careful not to bump it on anything. Though I've done as much research as I can all I can really come up with is again , pillow foot/paw. So I told my vet what I thought and they have me steroids and antibiotics and the roids made her puke so they had us stop giving it to her but continue antibiotics. But it's not like I see it having any positive effect on her. Her nose is so swollen it pushes on her tear ducts and seems to be helping to clog them giving her bad discharge and irritation. I feel so terribly sorry for her she also has CH so life is already hard for her . Just wish I could find a way to make it stop growing or not hurt for her . U can tell she is very careful with her nose . Don't know what to do...

Did the vet take a biopsy of her nose?

Omg is that a tumor? I cannot believe the vets wouldn't be at all concerned over this!

I've had her see 3 vets thus far and none of them even seemed the slightest bit intrigued by it... I told the first vet maybe it's pillow foot but what can we do for her nose? Like I wonder if it can be drained or anything how to make it stop putting so much pressure on her tear ducts. I know it bothers her, it's very obvious . But all they have me was antibiotics and steroids and the roids just made her sick , she gained some weight on the antibiotics ,but her nose kept growing. She also has CH and I bottle fed her since she was born , so she's my baby... I feel so bad for her I've tried to do what I can to help her , but vets are so expensive and most of them seem to only care about their money around here .. So I don't know what else to do but do as much of my own research as I can to find a solution. But id never seen this before so I am some what relieved she is not the only one. Though I feel bad for all the cats that have to deal with this . Everyone makes fun of her ... just wonder what advice/info other could possibly give me ..
