This is my newest cat kid.  He's 8, adopted last October from the shelter I volunteer with.  He's a quiet mellow guy who has a bad habit of crawling all over you at the most inopportune times (like when you're trying to put a spoon full of soup in your mouth).  Sadly, he was just diagnosed with kidney failure on Friday.

But, I'm trying to be optamistic that we can manage this and have a few more years with Cas.  It won't be the 8-10 years I had hoped for, but every extra day with him with be extra special.

With his namesakes, Castiel from Supernatural and Benedict Cumberbatch

On Friday, modeling a TARDIS shawl a friend knit for me

A month or so after I adopted him, before he lost a ton of weight

Helping me move, a week or so after I adopted him

Reminding me that laps are for cats, not computers

And this morning, my first cat Squeaky finally decided that Cas would make a good snuggle partner.  Better late than never.

Cute kitties! I'm sorry to hear about Castiel's diagnosis. I hope he can have some more good years with you with managed care.

I'm sorry he was diagnosed w/ renal failure so young, but hopefully it can be managed as well as my Fafeena's and you can have many good years yet

He's very striking!

CRF can be scary, but it's possible for a cat to live for years after the initial diagnosis. Best of luck to the both of you.

He is quite handsome!  I had a renal failure kitty.  She lived about 6 years after her diagnosis.  Just be sure to watch his diet, take him in for labs every 6 mos, and love him to pieces.

my daughter left shadow cat with me when she moved out she lived in hi output renal failure (water ad lib and 2 cans of cat food in a can/day)  till she had hind limb paralysis and incontinence, she was a thin beautiful 19 year old little old lady cat when i put her down crying all the way

so best of luck to your beauty, my simon cat looks like your white cat, he is a love
