I have to tell you, it was funny. I've really never had an issue with age. As I tell everyone, birthdays aren't about a number, they're about celebrating being born, and celebrating that we have a life to live. So my sister, who is 6 years older than I am, and we're not particularly close, asks the other day, "So how do you feel about turning the big 5 - 0 ?"

And I really hadn't thought about it, because I really don't think about birthday "numbers." But when I STARTED thinking about it, it kinda freaked me out. I mean - the image I have of myself is a fresh-faced 30-year old. And just WHO is that person in the mirror these days?

I got over it, because I've had a truly wonderful life, and I've lived it to the fullest. I've lived all over the country - and all over the world, actually. And LIVED there, not just passing through.... :heart2: I really thank my parents for SO much.... :heart2:

...and my good genes. I'm actually holding up pretty well! :lol3: I sure don't FEEL old!

I put together a retrospective by decade (though the youngest I had digital was 17).

At 41 at the Philadelphia docks, about to board the Triathalon, a suezmax oil tanker for a tour, with Gary (and a bunch of clients that aren't in the picture LOL).

....but this is my mom, at 76 years old!

OH Laurie.......... I am actually tearing up big time right now seeing those photos!! But good, happy tears, of course. You are so beautiful :love:, not only incredibly so inside, but strikingly so outside. I long for the day we can meet in person but somehow I don't think that will make us any closer than we are now, ya know what I mean. It is just a technicality . I am blown away at the connection we developed from day one on-line. AND, you know I hate computers, technology with a passion. I KNOW..... everyone..... that is just me. I am very old fashioned and I feel that technology takes us away from that one on one, face to face relationship. BUT.... since joining TCS, I have a new found love for computers. I never thought you could get so close to someone on-line. I was also one to say I would never EVER text. Well, I am texting on my phone now too. :lol3: I still have to pinch myself at the friendships I have developed because of the "computer". :lol3: :heart3:

p.s. Carolina asked me today, as Laurie you have as well in the past (but you know, I won't) ... DO FACEBOOK, Lauren. I just can't. All I have time for on the "computer" is TCS and email. OH and of course, ordering from Amazon. :lol3:

Hey, you know, there is nothing wrong with getting older. Every scar, wrinkle and grey hair tells a story (not that you have any Laurie! I hate you. lol   ) Of course, my husband and kitties gave me most of my grey hair...thank god for Nice and Easy!
