she's feeling better and
for eating and pooping!

I think you will see her get better and better as she heals - if I can go by Cindy.  As for the fur - poor Cindy as soon as she starts growing it back they have to shave it for something else.  Doesn't seem to bother her.

When will you get the biopsy results?

well got the biopsy results back, not good news it is cancer. the vet syas nothing we can do now, but keep a close eye on her and her habits. will not notice anything for months, if a year goes by  we are looking very good, saying there maybe microscopis cells that cannot be detected, but so far a waitng game, we did the right thing, getting it all out, and giving her the best chance we can,, very happy.. she is doing fine today, limping around   but her wounds like very good, and she is eating and pooped very well, like I said I weigh her food, she eat almost 30grams of her dry food,,  very good kitty,,

mewlittle is your kitty ok.. just concered because your said you have your reasons? to know if my kitty came back cancerous..  everything ok?   it is bothering me a little  If your do not want to discuss that's ok too..  I have faith in God  and she will live her life out, the way she should... thanks all for all the support,,, no more pills for her...

who me or catsarok?
Actually meant catsareok, since it doesn't look like you have an actual diagnosis yet, but the same question is for you too I would think. Isn't chemo an option for this type of cancer?

I was wondering the very same thing, since tclark13's Momma Kitty has been diagnosed with Mammary Cancer and has already been told she will need surgery PLUS 5 rounds of chemo.

no chemo, never even mentioned it, I am assuming because it was so small and confined, they did not see it anywhere else, it was mentioned at the beginning, but not certain,

there is a name for this cancer cannot spell it.. Antonia carcinoma or something like that, not real aggressive but in the middle.. pretty much said watch her and see what happens  did not see a oncologist.. either.. sorry about my medical terminology  and spelling.. this is as far as we go  until I see changes,, eating, sleeping, pooping.. he said  will not see anything for months, and if a year goes by  she is good... I am open to any suggestions, but for now   only been a week, want her to get back on track   thanks all

Maybe they got it all and you just have to watch to see if it pops up anywhere else.  I never knew much about cancer in cats until my Cindy got it, now I'm seeing how many different kinds there are (just like people I guess) and hopefully your sweetie will be just fine now.  I do know she has a very special daddy to take such good care of her

Glad to hear Minca is doing good!  After Cindy's surgery, vet sent us home with Famotidine, which is Pepcid. We were supposed to give her 1/2 pill (which would be 5 mg) once a day.  We gave her a couple, but she never really got sick, so we stopped.  She did have one day she threw up several times about a week after the surgery, they said it was something to watch out for, so we took her back to the eVet to be safe.  If Minca keeps throwing up you might want to call see what the vet has to say, just to be on the safe side.

hi   I did get the cyproheptadine pills for her, they are 2mg capsules  I think I will have trouble getting her to swallow one.. any suggestions, I am going to try and open her mouth and drop it right down her throat fast , if it just sits in her mouth, do not think she will swallow it.. not an option to empty it in her food. I am going to put a Little butter on it also.. hope for the best..

There are videos on youtube about giving a cat a pill.  Some cats are easier to pill than others.  Cindy is pretty easy since she doesn't fight, but it's a two person job.  I have to hold her while DH gently tilts her head back and tosses the pill in her mouth.  If she doesn't swallow it, she will spit it out, but sometimes she's very sneaky and will hold it in her mouth so we think she's swallowed it, then spit it out later.  I always worry about making her choke on it throwing it down her throat.  They have pill  poppers too, you can get them at the vets office, but I haven't mastered that one for sure.  Swanie is impossible to pill, when he had his URI, we took him to the vet and she stood across the room and when he hissed, she flung it into his mouth.  I think it's all practice.  Is it a capsule or pill?  Some of them will take it in a pill pocket (treat), but my cats chew, so one time with the pill pocket was all I could manage.

Hopefully someone will come along with better advice than this.

Do you have a Petco around you at all? They sell pill guns where you place the pill in the opening and if you want, to make it easier to go down you can dip it in cottage cheese or butter. you open their mouth by the side of their mouth with one hand and shoot the pill down with the other. Always use a small amount of water in a syringe to chase it down. ALWAYS. Sometimes a pill can get stuck in their throat and a dry pill going down their throat can leave scarring.

i will never use Diamond again, too many recalls. And I didn't even know Taste of the Wild was Diamond until they had that recall.  What are you giving her now?  Will she eat canned food?  It's easier to switch the canned than the dry, and it's better for them too.
