Good morning!

Tomorrow morning, I'm giving dear Richard breakfast in bed. I like to do this at times, just to show him that I appreciate him and all the things he does for me. He just loves having his breakfast in bed. We will have French toast, browned sausages, orange juice, a warm fruit salad, and shoofly cake.  (And then I probably won't eat the rest of the day!!)

I have a recipe for a breakfast pudding/French toast that I will make tonight and throw into the fridge. And then tomorrow, I just have to heat it in the oven, while I'm browning the sausage and putting the fruit together. I can make the shoofly cake tomorrow and bake it with the breakfast pudding.

Rick usually knows what I'm up to because he can smell the cinnamon and nutmeg in the French toast mixture when I'm making it the night before. He'll walk out into the kitchen, make a big show of sniffing around, and say, "What are doing, dear?" With a big smile on his face.

What is the last thing you've done to show your SO/spouse that you appreciate him/her?

Nothing, as I don't have a SO! Though, I did give my cats extra meat this morning to show I love them... does that count?!

PAM!! You are putting me to shame here. I have never made breakfast in bed for Larry. :lol3: BUT I do cook for him every night, except Fri. & Sat., we order in or go out. Actually, Larry will cook up some Swedish pancakes once in a blue moon on Sunday mornings. :yummy: So let's see. I took his car in for him to get his tire repaired (that's one), I always keep his shirts nice and ironed for work (that's two :lol3:) I keep the house very clean and tidy, fresh clean linens each week (because I like it that way, so that one is for me :D), I gave him a good scalp massage last night and it put him to sleep (that's three :lol2:) and the list goes on from there. I love taking care of my hubby because he is so good to me and always wants me to be happy (although sometimes I have to remind him of that. :D :bigwink:)

Hmm...  I put both kids to bed myself the other night.  I thank him for things he does around the house.  I regularly verbalize things like that to him.  Thank him for working so hard, etc.  I've been doing some extra baking and things recently; but I'm better about using words than actions I guess.  Oh!  I got him a cookie from chick-fil-a when I took the kids this week.  Those things are awesome.  The way to his heart is through his stomach; especially if you add sugar.

I actually answered the phone last night when he called to wish me a Happy Valentine's Day!!! I've been so busy all week, I think he must have tried several times, (without leaving a message - he hates to leave messages), because when I picked up, he said, "Well, you'd better be there!!! Happy Valentine's Day!" I was happy I picked up the phone. :D

I do all the laundry, but I deserve extra credit for the socks. I love my DH, and please don't think I'm being nasty here, but his socks SMELL, sometimes even after washing. He can't help it. It's funny, though, as his feet aren't especially smelly, nor his shoes--but the socks kill me.  I sometimes have to pre-soak them, or wash them twice. I call it "toxic-sock syndrome."

I also wash his work uniforms, even though we agreed over 2 years ago that he'd do them (I have more than enough laundry to do, with 9 cats shedding and sometimes vomitting on things!). He has never once done them himself, and now, uniforms are mandatory. He'd have nothing to wear to wokr if I didn't remember to wash them.

Rick will do housework; he doesn't particularly enjoy it, but who does? He'll do it. He will do laundry, he will cook (not often), he does the trash, including cleaning and scouring the litter boxes.....I do help, but he does most of it.

When I had a knee operation a couple years, ago, he took a week off work, just to keep an eye on me. I didn't do anything; he took complete control of the house, including all the cats....and all of the house work. When I say, "Dear, let's paint the living room!", he knows that really means, "Dear, will YOU paint the living room!" and he complains about it. But it gets done. He puts Christmas lights around outside, not because he wants them, but because he knows how much I love the outside lights. He'll spend a day at the outlets, shopping with me; he doesn't like to shop, but he knows that I do, even though I don't buy much of anything.

To be honest, I married a good man. I don't tell him that very often. But I'm very lucky.

BTW, he enjoyed his breakfast in bed yesterday. It was nice to take some extra time for us for a change. I didn't do the breakfast pudding because it had to be in the fridge overnight and we were both in bed and sound asleep by 8:30 on Friday night....I know, what a way to spend a Friday night! So when I got up at 5:00 to give the cats their breakfast, I threw the shoofly cake together, and while it was baking, I made regular French toast and sauteed the sausages. It was more of a treat for him that way, too, as he had no idea what was going on this time since I wasn't messing around the night before.
