#2 Night Cat!

Here he is, chilling in the bathroom. No flash because I didn't want to freak him out worse. He has been a very good guest so far. Much politer than certain other kitties I could mention, who started hollering for their breakfast at 5:45 AM.

He's back, recuperating in the bathroom. I thought he felt like a big guy; he is 13 lbs!

I got him because the rescue/TNR organization I'm working with couldn't place him elsewhere to recover. Usually they can but they had schedule problems today. It is very cold outside. The forecast is -10F tonight, but if he's made it outside this long, I suppose he'll be OK. So far he's too scared to eat any bits of fish I put in his trap. :(

He is breaking my heart; he has not hissed, growled, or clawed at me, and I am letting myself think about his socialization potential. I can't do it.

This TNR thing is much easier when the organization handles the cats after trapping, and all the decisions about the kitties' fates are made without me. :sigh:

Yeah, I hear you.

I've TNRd some cats who were clearly someone's house pets; one was so friendly I didn't have to trap him, simply picked him up and put him into a cat carrier.  (In fact I though "she" was in heat "she" was so friendly.  Nah, just a really trusting cat.)

although i have never had one like that - all of mine have been your typical "freaking out" feral cats when in the trap - i do sympathize with what you are feeling.

at least he is now going to be healthier and have a much better life thanks to you.

I feel for you catclan!   Wish I had something helpful to say, just commiseration.
