My kitten is a little over 4 months right now and is at 6 pounds. She is by no means fat she is just growing and I think she will be a large cat. She goes on kitty walks and has epic play times. She has just been grasing on her dry kitten food and gets a tea spoon of wet food when I leave for work in the morning (a treat so she thinks me leaving is a good thing). But how much should I be feeding a growing kitten. Even as I type this she is running laps around the apartment and stalking her toys.

As long as she looks normal and is active, you must be doing fine. Look down on her from above, does she have a 'waist'? Although at 4 months she still most likely has a kitten figure with a bigger belly. Feel along her sides, can you feel where her ribs are? If you can't feel them she is overweight, if you see her hip bones or ribs she is underweight. If you can feel where they are but not 'easily' she is just right. I have always fed my kittens as much as they want until they are a year old, and I've never had an obese one. They are usually plenty enough active to keep in shape!

i can feel her ribs and pelvic bones and she does still have that big kitten belly. But ive just been letting her eat how ever much she wants because she is a kitten and needs all the nutrition she can get. I think I just got alittle scared because she is becoming a large cat so quickly. Right now she is about the same length of a neighbors 4 year old cat!

I would bet she just is going to be a large cat. Some cats seem to grow all at once and then slow down. If it was me, I'd just continue what you are doing, letting her have as much hard food as she wants, and then a little canned. I'm sure she'll let you know if she's not getting enough! Also, your vet could advise you, I've had good luck just calling them and then they return my call.
