hey this is my first time using this site, so im sorry if its hard to follow me ect. but im pretty worried!!
my cat is around 15 years old and as of this morning she can hardly walk.
lately i have noticed her jumping and balance has been a bit off but i put it down to old age, and as she is still eating fine (though she is quite thin due to a thyroid problem). i am a pre-med student but when it comes to animals, even my own i am completely lost.
she came into the house this morning meowing a lot and looked just really confused and scared.
im taking her to a good (but cheap) vet at 4pm (its 1pm now) it would be 5 times more expensive to go to the emergency vet down the road but im worried it may need urgent care, does anyone have any idea what could have happened? im worried shes hit her head on something, so do you think i should just take her to the vet now?
ps. where i live in Australia there are a LOT of snakes/spiders and just generally life threatening wildlife everywhere. im also worried she might have a snake bite (i live just behind a reserve) which is what my brothers cat died of only a few months ago... and she's not adverse to brown snakes as shes brought a few dead ones home before.
any advice would be appreciated!
