The closest emergency vet open today is over 30 miles away. I'm not sure if I should take Jackson or wait until tomorrow.

He hasn't eaten since breakfast yesterday. His temp is normal at 101, but he has been hanging out and sleeping under the bed since yesterday. I got him to come out, took his temp and he sniffed some food but didn't eat any. He walked around a little but he isn't his usual self. The other cats are all healthy and acting normally. He hasn't been outside at all. This morning when I scooped the litter boxes I didn't find anything unusual.

My husband said he found some watery poop this morning but he thinks it was one of the dogs, it was just on the carpet by the tv and no where near the litter boxes. Jackson has always had perfect litter box usage. Then later today he found what he described what sounded like a hair ball with a little watery vomit that might or might not have had plastic at the core. I admit Jackson does like to chew on plastic bags and things but he has never ingested it as far I know.

So symptoms are

not eating

hiding

not his normal happy self

You-never-want-to-wait-more-than-24-hrs,if-they-are-not-eating.If-they-are-not-eating,they-are-not-drinking,then-you-risk-the-possibility-of-dehydration,which,is-worse.When-they-are-dehydrated,they-won't-eat,because-they-don't-feel-good.When-they-hide,-its-also-because-they-don't-feel-good.

Chewing-on-plastics-is-not-good-either,plastic-is-toxic,I-already-been-thru-this,she-ate-the-bread,and-the-plastic,that-caused-liver-issues.She-didn't-eat-her-breakfast,she-went-in-that-morning,eating-is-her-mission-in-life.She-was-also-dehydrated,and-they-gave-her-sub-q-fluids.

I-would-at-least-call-the-ER-vet,and-ask-them,if-they-feel-it-can-wait-until-tomorrow-morning,or-if-they-feel-he-should-come-in-now.

After I posted this I called the emergency vet and talked to them. I just got back from taking him in. He had a full exam and X-rays to rule out any obstruction issues and they couldn't find anything wrong with him. So the vet said if he still doesn't eat to call my regular vet tomorrow.

He ate a little canned food when we got home though.

Well, maybe there was some plastic in his tummy, and he was able to throw it all up by the time you took him to the ER Vet
.  How's he doing today?  Better?

He was back to his normal self yesterday. Running around and playing and eating normally. So he is fine now. I'm not sure which cat threw up that up since there are 4 in the house.

Well, I'm lthinking it was that plastic in the vomit, and it probably WAS Jackson, and now he's all better, thankfully.  Glad everything is back to normal
