I love her. She is a black dsh about the same age as my established cat, Masquerade. And beyond loveable. We got her from an animal sanctuary, and her backstory is almost the same as my Masq's. Found flea covered, with worms, underfed in someones backyard. She is EXTREMELY shy and will bolt out of the room when most people come in, by my I mean other than myself, but once she warms up to you its nonstop headputs and very dainty pretty chirrups and purrs.

We deceided to look into a second cat when we moved into our new apartment, which is far smaller than our last.... but with a sealed back porch so they can go out onto the patio and be outside without me having to worry about them getting lost, stolen, ran over...etc. the downside is the smells... the litter boxes themselves are often overpowering, and of course the new girl is a farter.... especially now that she hhas gained a little weight and is quite well fed.

She is also awesome with children, which is a relief since I'm now 5 months pregnant (and a blimp I might add) she just...runs out of the room. Which is just as good to me as how my masq will "love and tolerate the heck out of it".

Oh, lol. We've name her Serenade. Thought it went well with the matchy matchy names, and the fact she is a black cat.

Congrats on the new kitty.  Litterboxes shouldn't smell though (even with 4 cats our boxes have never smelled.)  With a good clumping clay litter and scooping the boxes a couple of times per day it has never been an issue.  Just wanted you to know that you don't have to live with the smell.

Good luck with her.  She sounds like such a sweetie.

My husband is in charge of the litter boxes, since I can't touch them. Right now, I think he uses cheap litter. And both cats are still "kittens" and adjusting to the adult version of the food.... they fill it quickly...
