These are my babies!

Almost all of them are former ferals. They were born in the wild trapped and tamed by me. I have one that was born from a feral/stray mother in my lap after I had brought her mother in from outside.

Princess Sophia Moemoe Munchkin Baby  aka Moe. Was born in my lap almost 5 years ago on Feb 13th. She is one of the true loves of my life. Moe has made many photo appearances here on TCS for he cooking abilities.

Next we have Frisky aka fat cat. Frisky has an interesting story as he was found outside of my house 9 years ago. When I brought him in he was having problems breathing. At 11pm I rushed him and hour away to an emergency animal hospital and found out he suffers from asthma. He spent 3 days in an oxygen chamber at the hospital and is currently taking Theodore for his asthma. We had him scanned at the hospital for a microchip and it was found he had been chipped from an animal shelter over and hour and a half from my home. When we contacted them they had no info on who had adopted him as the person had never registered the microchip. We assume he was transferred to a shelter close to my home and adopted and let outside and ended up here. After spending $2000.00 at the emergency clinic on him we decided to keep him and register the chip in our name. He has been with us for 9 years now.

This is Charlie aka Babykins. Some of you may remember his story. I caught him when he was about 12 weeks old, He had been living in a woodpile near my house. I am positive now he was born to one of my ferals Cali. This boy was born to be a housecat. He is by far the easiest feral I have ever taken in. It took him less than 3 days to decide the inside life was for him. Charlie has been with us almost a year now. His gotcha date was Feb 10th

Next we have the little ones who really aren't that little anymore they are 9 months old now. 2 seperate litters both from feral colonies. One set from my own colony and another from a colony my brother in law takes care of. My brother in law is a mail man and takes care of the ferals and strays on his route everyday. He takes the ones he can and when he doesn't have space he brings them to me. Most people have a mailman that actually brings mail. I have one that delivers cats in his uniform :)

First set is from my colony they are full brothers to Charlie. After this litter I finally caught crafty cali and had her fixed! Whew she was tough. Even after being in my area for 2 years I can only get marginally close to her still can not touch her or make a move towards her or she will bolt.

This is Bandit aka chow hound extrodinare. He was the last of the 3 to be caught took me weeks to get the little bugger. I had caught his 2 brothers long before I ever got near him. Funny thing is he was first to tame. He like his brother Charlie were born to be housecats. They were just born in the wrong spot. Bandit is the most loving little guy and really lives up to his name as he will steal anything edible that is not nailed down.

Next we have Mario aka Mario Batali for his red hair :)  Mario was one of the first 2 of this litter I managed to catch. He also has been my project as he was definatly the wildest of the bunch. He had a tough time from the start. He has bitten me, scratched the heck out of me and even flat out attacked me. Unfortunately when he was caught he had a major bug. The diarhea was so so bad. When he walked it just came out all over him or poor guy would be laying in his crate in a puddle of poo that had oozed out. I am very fortunate I have a friend who is a vet who will come to my house so I do not have to stress my new ferals by crating them and taking them in the car. I had him wormed and we started the course of antibiotics, pumpkin special diet anything to get rid of the runs. It took weeks to get rid of it. During the illness his anus became swollen, so swollen it looked like an angry red protruison coming from his rear end. Every day I had to bathe the poor little guy multiple times and put preperation H on his behind and then give him his meds. This did not start our relationship off well.

After about 2 months he finally got well enough to be released in the house but he was still oh so wild. I started to think that he was going to be one that I was just going to have to reintroduce to my colony and have released once he was neutered. He just did not seem happy or willing to become one of the household gang.  And then, something clicked and I noticed that he was starting to sit out in the open without hissing or spitting. A week later he was slowly moving towards where I sit during the day and at night when I got up I would notice him sleeping in my chair. And one day he climbed in my lap all on his own! It was such a joyful moment. I can't explain that feeling when one suddenly decides your pretty ok in thier book. Now a month later he has been fixed and every morning when I get up he jumps in my laps for pets and every now and then I catch him sleeping next to me in my bed at night though he will never admit it.

What a joy this guy has turned out to be and with a little more time I believe he will be a love bug lap cat. I can see it in his eyes when he sits with me that this is what he wants.

This post is getting long so I will continue in another post on this thread soon.

Next we have Petey who is brother to Mario and Bandit. I caught Petey when I caught Mario. I am happy to report that Petey was tamed and rehomed to a loving home with his step brother Tubby from the litter my brother in law brought me.

Petey and Tubby together in their new home

The next set is litter number 2 from my brother in laws colony.

Tubby who was pictured above was brought in with his sisters Mia and Annabelle. They were pretty young when I got them I am figuring 4-6 weeks old as I still had to give them milk and their eyes still had blue in them.

These guys have been such a pleasure to work with. I am lucky that litter one and litter 2 were very close in age so they got along well.

Miss Annabelle is the mature one of the whole 6 I had. She was first to get out of her kitty playpen. First to climb the curtains lol.  She was originally rehomed after she was tamed and old enough. Sadly her new home had another cat and introductions just did not go well no matter how hard we all tried and Annabelle came back to live with us. My husband and I always say if it they are meant to be here they are meant to be here and if one gets rehomed and comes back well they were just meant to stay with us :)

Last but certainly not least is Miss Mia aka Peanut. She is another one born to be a housecat. She is such a joy and has a wonderful spirit. She is such a happy cat that she makes you feel happy no matter how down you maybe. I often look at her and think if my brother in law had not caputured her we would have missed out on such a wonderful girl. Mia loves water! She will play in it for as long as you let her. We have one of those Delta touch faucets and she will actually jump in the sink bump it with her nose to turn it on and just play it is so fun to watch. Lucky the faucet has a 3 min timer and shuts its self off.  I will try and post pictures of her playing in the sink when I can.
