I had the surgery on the 28th. They actually had to take the entire breast. Monday, I went to the oncologist and they drew blood out of the port where I wil be taking the chemo. It didn't hurt at all! Yesterday they took out the drain. I was so happy to get that out. They also removed the bandage and I was finally able to take a shower. I was in a lot of pain the first couple of days and had to take a lot of pain mere. I can only sleep on my back right now which is uncomfortable. One of my friends GAVE me a recliner. It has been a godsend.

After I got home and saw my chest without the bandage was sobering. There is a big wound instead of my breast. Once it completely heals, I will start the chemo. They have to wait for the pathology results.

Yay for the drain being taken out! As each step is taken care of, you make progress. So happy you got that recliner! Take care. Keeping fingers crossed for the pathology reports!

I'm sure that seeing your chest was a sobering experience for you. But you will heal. And you will be healthy. You've been in my thoughts all the time and I'm so glad that the doctor has removed the drain.

The friend who gave you the recliner is an angel....there's just no other word for her.

Good luck with the chemo.

Good luck with the chemo. What a wonderful friend to have given you the recliner. Positive :vibes: for each and every new step in your healing.
