Hello. My cat had surgery today around 4pm. It is now 11pm. He is still having some trouble with one of his back legs in that he is flat footed and still doesnt have a lot of control over it. I willl contact my vet first thing in the am. I am wondering if anyone has ever experienced this. Perhaps for some reason the anesthetic is taking longer to wear off. It has gotten very slightly better since we got home. He is in good spirits, but i am worried. Any suggestions?

He is still having trouble. The leg is pretty wobbly.

He had to have his eye taken out. I has been heartbreaking.

So it's not something minor like castration.  It's probably OK but the best thing is to check with the vets when they are open.  It is upsetting for you, but he will probably get over it really well.  Cats don't get any conception of 'my eye (or leg or even testicles!) has/have been removed how awful' - they just get on with life.

He is a tough kitty that is for sure. He is already trying to jump but doesnt have the power. I am hoping it is just a side effect and things will be ok. I call him my frankenkitty.

Definitely heartbreaking for me. But he is eating, drinking and using the litter.

The next hurdle is getting the other cat not to hiss and attack him. Slowly re-introducing them.
